Abstract

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE that acquires information regarding an interfering non-serving cell and uses the information to improve decoding of serving cell signals. The method includes receiving, from a serving evolved Node B (eNB), information that includes one or more transmission characteristics of at least one non-serving cell and performing at least one of interference cancellation, demodulation, or provides an improved channel quality indicator (CQI) based on the received information.

Claims

1. A method of wireless communication comprising:

receiving, from a serving evolved Node B (eNB), information comprising one or more transmission characteristics of at least one non-serving cell; and

performing at least one of interference cancellation, demodulation, or providing an improved channel quality indicator (CQI) based on the received information.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more transmission characteristics comprises one or more interference characteristics of the at least one non-serving cell.

The method of claim 2, wherein the one or more interference characteristics comprises at least one of a transmission mode, a recently used radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) value, an IC list, a carrier type, a carrier release, a virtual cell identification (ID), a control span, statistics regarding a loading level of at least one of almost blank subframes (ABSs) and non-ABSs, statistics regarding previously used traffic-to-pilot ratios (TPRs), a previously used TPR, statistics regarding a previously used modulation order, and a previously used modulation order.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein:

the information further comprises one or more characteristics of a relay node; and

the non-serving cell is a donor eNB.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the one or more characteristics of the relay node comprises at least one of a type of the donor eNB, loading information of the donor eNB, a resource allocation to the relay node, and a parameter indicating a backhaul quality of the relay node.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates whether subframes from the non-serving cell are based on a legacy carrier type (LCT), a new carrier type (NCT), or the LCT and the NCT.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates a narrowband region dedicated for machine type communication (MTC).

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates a time division multiplexing (TDM) partition between a new carrier type (NCT) and a legacy carrier type (LCT) in a subframe transmitted from the non-serving eNB.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates whether a node configured for multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) is currently transmitting.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates a cooperation set associated with a coordinated multi-point (CoMP) configuration.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the information further comprises tunneled non-serving cell information used for performing a handover procedure.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates loading information of different nodes and different radio access technologies (RATs) of a multi-flow configuration.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates at least one of a multicast broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) configuration of the non-serving cell and a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) configuration of the non-serving cell.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates rate matching information for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH).

15. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates a traffic-to-pilot (TPR) variation of 16-quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) or 64-QAM.

16. The method of claim 1, wherein the information indicates a configuration of positioning reference signals (PRS) implemented by the non-serving cell.

17. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

means for receiving, from a serving evolved Node B (eNB), information comprising one or more transmission characteristics of at least one non-serving cell; and

means for performing at least one of interference cancellation, demodulation, or providing an improved channel quality indicator (CQI) based on the received information.

18. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the one or more transmission characteristics comprises one or more interference characteristics of the at least one non-serving cell.

19. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein the one or more interference characteristics comprises at least one of a transmission mode, a recently used radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) value, an IC list, a carrier type, a carrier release, a virtual cell identification (ID), a control span, statistics regarding a loading level of at least one of almost blank subframes (ABSs) and non-ABSs, statistics regarding previously used traffic-to-pilot ratios (TPRs), a previously used TPR, statistics regarding a previously used modulation order, and a previously used modulation order.

20. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein:

the information further comprises one or more characteristics of a relay node; and

the non-serving cell is a donor eNB.

21. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein the one or more characteristics of the relay node comprises at least one of a type of the donor eNB, loading information of the donor eNB, a resource allocation to the relay node, and a parameter indicating a backhaul quality of the relay node.

22. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the information indicates whether subframes from the non-serving cell are based on a legacy carrier type (LCT), a new carrier type (NCT), or the LCT and the NCT.

23. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the information indicates a narrowband region dedicated for machine type communication (MTC).

24. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the information indicates a time division multiplexing (TDM) partition between a new carrier type (NCT) and a legacy carrier type (LCT) in a subframe transmitted from the non-serving eNB.

25. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the information indicates whether a node configured for multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) is currently transmitting.

26. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the information indicates a cooperation set associated with a coordinated multi-point (CoMP) configuration.

27. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the information further comprises tunneled non-serving cell information used for performing a handover procedure.

28. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the information indicates loading information of different nodes and different radio access technologies (RATs) of a multi-flow configuration.

29. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the information indicates at least one of a multicast broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) configuration of the non-serving cell and a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) configuration of the non-serving cell.

30. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein the information indicates rate matching information for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH).

33. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

a processing system configured to;

receive, from a serving evolved Node B (eNB), information comprising one or more transmission characteristics of at least one non-serving cell; and

perform at least one of interference cancellation, demodulation, or providing an improved channel quality indicator (CQI) based on the received information.

34. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the one or more transmission characteristics comprises one or more interference characteristics of the at least one non-serving cell.

35. The apparatus of claim 34, wherein the one or more interference characteristics comprises at least one of a transmission mode, a recently used radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) value, an IC list, a carrier type, a carrier release, a virtual cell identification (ID), a control span, statistics regarding a loading level of at least one of almost blank subframes (ABSs) and non-ABSs, statistics regarding previously used traffic-to-pilot ratios (TPRs), a previously used TPR, statistics regarding a previously used modulation order, and a previously used modulation order.

36. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein:

the information further comprises one or more characteristics of a relay node; and

the non-serving cell is a donor eNB.

37. The apparatus of claim 36, wherein the one or more characteristics of the relay node comprises at least one of a type of the donor eNB, loading information of the donor eNB, a resource allocation to the relay node, and a parameter indicating a backhaul quality of the relay node.

38. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information indicates whether subframes from the non-serving cell are based on a legacy carrier type (LCT), a new carrier type (NCT), or the LCT and the NCT.

40. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information indicates a time division multiplexing (TDM) partition between a new carrier type (NCT) and a legacy carrier type (LCT) in a subframe transmitted from the non-serving eNB.

41. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information indicates whether a node configured for multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) is currently transmitting.

42. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information indicates a cooperation set associated with a coordinated multi-point (CoMP) configuration.

43. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information further comprises tunneled non-serving cell information used for performing a handover procedure.

44. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information indicates loading information of different nodes and different radio access technologies (RATs) of a multi-flow configuration.

45. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information indicates at least one of a multicast broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) configuration of the non-serving cell and a multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) configuration of the non-serving cell.

46. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information indicates rate matching information for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH).

47. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information indicates a traffic-to-pilot (TPR) variation of 16-quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) or 64-QAM.

48. The apparatus of claim 33, wherein the information indicates a configuration of positioning reference signals (PRS) implemented by the non-serving cell.

49. A computer program product, comprising:

a computer-readable medium comprising code for;

receiving, from a serving evolved Node B (eNB), information comprising one or more transmission characteristics of at least one non-serving cell; and

performing at least one of interference cancellation, demodulation, or providing an improved channel quality indicator (CQI) based on the received information.

50. The computer program product of claim 49, wherein the one or more transmission characteristics comprises one or more interference characteristics of the at least one non-serving cell.

51. The computer program product of claim 50, wherein the one or more interference characteristics comprises at least one of a transmission mode, a recently used radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) value, an IC list, a carrier type, a carrier release, a virtual cell identification (ID), a control span, statistics regarding a loading level of at least one of almost blank subframes (ABSs) and non-ABSs, statistics regarding previously used traffic-to-pilot ratios (TPRs), a previously used TPR, statistics regarding a previously used modulation order, and a previously used modulation order.
