1. A radio frequency identification (RFID) tag comprising:
- a base, wherein a fold is formed in the base;
an integrated circuit formed on the base;
a pair of first antenna segments formed on the base, wherein each first antenna segment extends from the integrated circuit to the fold; and
a second antenna segment formed on the base on an opposite side of the fold than the integrated circuit,wherein the second antenna segment contacts the pair of first antenna segments at the fold at free ends thereof, the pair of first antenna segments and the second antenna segment forming a loop antenna.

Abstract
An RFID tag includes a base having at least one fold formed therein. An integrated circuit is formed on the base. At least one antenna segment extends from the integrated circuit and crosses the fold. When the fold is creased, a portion of the antenna segment on one side of the fold is aligned to be orthogonal to a portion of the antenna segment on the other side of the fold.
