Abstract

A wagering game system and its operations are described herein. In some embodiments, the operations can include logging in a first user account based on login information received via a gaming widget, wherein the gaming widget is configured to communicate with a server that provides non-wagering game content. The operations can further include detecting wagering game activity for a second user account associated with the first user account. The operations can further include providing the non-wagering game content for presentation via the gaming widget based on the wagering game activity for the second user account.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

logging in a first user account based on login information received via a gaming widget, wherein the gaming widget is configured to communicate with a server that provides non-wagering game content;

detecting, via at least one of one or more processors, wagering game activity for a second user account associated with the first user account; and

providing, via at least one of the one or more processors, the non-wagering game content for presentation via the gaming widget based on the wagering game activity for the second user account.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

storing non-wagering game history for the first user account based on play of the non-wagering game content;

generating marketing content based on one or more of the wagering game activity and the non-wagering game history; and

providing the marketing content for presentation via the gaming widget.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the detecting the wagering game activity for the second user account associated with the first user account comprises:

detecting a threshold statistic for a wagering game previously played via the second user account; and

authorizing the first user account to access the non-wagering game via the gaming widget in response to detecting the threshold statistic.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the threshold statistic comprises of one or more of a number of plays of wagering game content, a number of times a player played a bonus game associated with wagering game content, and one or more winning events that occurred for wagering game content.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

in response to logging in the first user account, detecting that the second user account is indicated as a social contact of the first user account; and

authorizing the first user account to access a history of the wagering game activity of the second user account.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the first user account is a social network user account, wherein the second user account is a wagering game player account and further comprising linking the first user account and the second user account in response to logging in the first user account.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the non-wagering game content is a community game and further comprising:

sending a notification to the second player account that the non-wagering game content was provided to the first user account via the gaming widget; and

including the second user account as a participant, with the first user account, in the community game.

8. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

after providing the non-wagering game content for presentation via the gaming widget, providing the second user account access to the non-wagering game content.

9. One or more machine-readable storage media having instructions stored thereon, which when executed by a set of one or more processors causes the set of one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

logging in a first user account based on login information received via a gaming widget, wherein the gaming widget is configured to communicate with a server that provides non-wagering game content;

detecting wagering game activity for a second user account associated with the first user account; and

providing the non-wagering game content for presentation via the gaming widget based on the wagering game activity for the second user account.

10. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 9 said operations further comprising:

storing non-wagering game history for the first user account based on play of the non-wagering game content;

generating marketing content based on one or more of the wagering game activity and the non-wagering game history; and

providing the marketing content for presentation via the gaming widget.

11. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 9, wherein said operation for detecting the wagering game activity for the second user account associated with the first user account, includes operations further comprising:

detecting a threshold statistic for a wagering game previously played via the second user account; and

authorizing the first user account to access the non-wagering game via the gaming widget in response to detecting the threshold statistic.

12. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 11, wherein the threshold statistic comprises of one or more of a number of plays of wagering game content, a number of times a player played a bonus game associated with wagering game content, and one or more winning events that occurred for wagering game content.

13. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 9, said operations further comprising:

in response to logging in the first user account, detecting that the second user account is indicated as a social contact of the first user account; and

authorizing the first user account to access a history of the wagering game activity of the second user account.

The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 9, wherein the first user account is a social network user account, wherein the second user account is a wagering game player account and said operations further comprising linking the first user account and the second user account in response to logging in the first user account.

15. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 9, wherein the non-wagering game content is a community game and said operations further comprising:

sending a notification to the second player account that the non-wagering game content was provided to the first user account via the gaming widget; and

including the second user account as a participant, with the first user account, in the community game.

16. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 9, said operations further comprising:

after providing the non-wagering game content for presentation via the gaming widget, providing the second user account access to the non-wagering game content.

17. A system comprising:

one or more processors; and

one or more memory storage units configured to store instructions, which when executed by at least one of the one or more processors cause the system to perform operations to

log in a first user account based on login information received via a gaming widget, wherein the gaming widget is configured to communicate with a server that provides non-wagering game content,

detect wagering game activity for a second user account associated with the first user account, and

provide the non-wagering game content for presentation via the gaming widget based on the wagering game activity for the second user account.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the one or more memory storage units are configured to store instructions, which when executed by at least one of the one or more processors cause the system to further perform operations to:

store non-wagering game history for the first user account based on play of the non-wagering game content;

generate marketing content based on one or more of the wagering game activity and the non-wagering game history; and

provide the marketing content for presentation via the gaming widget.

19. The system of claim 17, wherein the operation to detect the wagering game activity for the second user account associated with the first user account includes one or more operations to:

detect a threshold statistic for a wagering game previously played via the second user account; and

authorize the first user account to access the non-wagering game via the gaming widget in response to detecting the threshold statistic.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein the threshold statistic comprises of one or more of a number of plays of wagering game content, a number of times a player played a bonus game associated with wagering game content, and one or more winning events that occurred for wagering game content.

21. The system of claim 17, wherein the one or more memory storage units are configured to store instructions, which when executed by at least one of the one or more processors cause the system to further perform operations to:

in response to the first user account being logged in, detect that the second user account is indicated as a social contact of the first user account; and

authorize the first user account to access a history of the wagering game activity of the second user account.

The system of claim 17, wherein the first user account is a social network user account, wherein the second user account is a wagering game player account and , wherein the one or more memory storage units are configured to store instructions, which when executed by at least one of the one or more processors cause the system to further perform operations to link the first user account and the second user account in response to the first user account being logged in.

23. The system of claim 17, wherein the non-wagering game content is a community game, and wherein the one or more memory storage units are configured to store instructions, which when executed by at least one of the one or more processors cause the system to further perform operations to:

send a notification to the second player account that the non-wagering game content was provided to the first user account via the gaming widget; and

include the second user account as a participant, with the first user account, in the community game.

24. The system of claim 17, wherein the one or more memory storage units are configured to store instructions, which when executed by at least one of the one or more processors cause the system to further perform operations to:

after the non-wagering game content is provided for presentation via the gaming widget, provide the second user account access to the non-wagering game content.
