Abstract

A system may receive a first user input that identifies an optical route in an optical network, may receive a second user input that identifies a direction with which to display the optical route, and may provide, based on the first user input and the second user input, a user interface. The user interface may display optical links associated with the optical route, and may display network entities associated with the optical route. The user interface may display a source entity, where the source entity identifies a source of an optical transmission carried by an optical link, and may display a destination entity, where the destination entity identifies a destination for the optical transmission. The user interface may also display a power adjustment made to the optical transmission at the source entity or the destination entity.

Claims

1. A system, comprising:

one or more processors to;

receive a first user input that identifies an optical route in an optical network;

receive a second user input that identifies a direction with which to display the optical route; and

provide, based on the first user input and the second user input, a user interface that displays;

information that identifies one or more optical links associated with the optical route,

information that identifies one or more network entities associated with the optical route,

information that identifies a source entity, of the one or more network entities, the source entity identifying a source of an optical transmission carried by an optical link, of the one or more optical links,

information that identifies a destination entity, of the one or more network entities, the destination entity identifying a destination for the optical transmission, and

information that identifies a power adjustment made to the optical transmission at the source entity or the destination entity.

2. The system of claim 1, where the information that identifies the source entity and the information that identifies the destination entity are based on the second user input.

3. The system of claim 1, where the one or more processors are further to:

provide, on the user interface;

information that identifies a plurality of components associated with the source entity, and

information that identifies a plurality of components associated with the destination entity.

4. The system of claim 3, where the information that identifies a power adjustment includes:

information that identifies a first power adjustment made to the optical transmission by a first component, of the plurality of components associated with the source entity, and

information that identifies a second power adjustment made to the optical transmission by a second component, of the plurality of components associated with the destination entity.

5. The system of claim 4, where the one or more processors are further to:

provide, on the user interface;

information that identifies an optical power received by the first component,

information that identifies an optical power received by the second component,

information that identifies an optical power transmitted by the first component, and

information that identifies an optical power transmitted by the second component.

6. The system of claim 4, where the one or more processors are further to:

provide, on the user interface;

information that identifies a time at which the first power adjustment was made, and

information that identifies a time at which the second power adjustment was made.

7. The system of claim 1, where the one or more processors are further to:

receive information that identifies an alert associated with the optical link; and

provide, based on the information that identifies the alert and on the user interface;

a representation of the alert,

a representation of the optical link associated with the alert, and

a representation of a severity level of the alert.

8. A computer-readable medium, comprising:

one or more instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to;

receive a first user input that identifies an optical route in an optical network;

receive a second user input that identifies a direction with which to display a plurality of network entities associated with the optical route; and

provide, based on the first user input and the second user input, a user interface that displays;

information that identifies the plurality of network entities,

information that identifies one or more optical links associated with the optical route,

information that identifies a source entity, of the one or more network entities, the source entity identifying a source of an optical transmission carried by an optical link, of the one or more optical links,

information that identifies a destination entity, of the one or more network entities, the destination entity identifying a destination for the optical transmission, and

information that identifies a power adjustment made to the optical transmission at the source entity or the destination entity.

9. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, where the information that identifies the source entity and the information that identifies the destination entity are based on the second user input.

10. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, further comprising:

one or more instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to;

provide, on the user interface;

information that identifies a plurality of components associated with the source entity, and

information that identifies a plurality of components associated with the destination entity.

11. The computer-readable medium of claim 10, where the information that identifies a power adjustment includes:

information that identifies a first power adjustment made to the optical transmission by a first component, of the plurality of components associated with the source entity, and

information that identifies a second power adjustment made to the optical transmission by a second component, of the plurality of components associated with the destination entity.

12. The computer-readable medium of claim 11, further comprising:

one or more instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to;

provide, on the user interface;

information that identifies an optical power received by the first component,

information that identifies an optical power received by the second component,

information that identifies an optical power transmitted by the first component, and

information that identifies an optical power transmitted by the second component.

13. The computer-readable medium of claim 11, further comprising:

one or more instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to;

provide, on the user interface;

information that identifies a time at which the first power adjustment was made, and

information that identifies a time at which the second power adjustment was made.

14. The computer-readable medium of claim 8, further comprising:

one or more instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to;

receive information that identifies an alert associated with the optical link; and

provide, based on the information that identifies the alert and on the user interface;

a representation of the alert,

a representation of the optical link associated with the alert, and

a representation of a severity level of the alert.

15. A method, comprising:

receiving, by a device, a first user input that identifies an optical route in an optical network, the optical route being associated with a plurality of optical links, and each optical link being associated with an optical transmission;

receiving, by the device, a second user input that identifies a source entity and a destination entity associated with the optical route, the source entity identifying a source of the optical transmission, and the destination entity identifying a destination for the optical transmission; and

providing, by the device and based on the first user input and the second user input, for display;

information that identifies one or more optical links, of the plurality of optical links;

information that identifies the source entity,

information that identifies the destination entity, and

information that identifies a power adjustment made to the optical transmission at the source entity or the destination entity.

16. The method of claim 15, further comprising:

providing for display;

information that identifies a plurality of components associated with the source entity, and

information that identifies a plurality of components associated with the destination entity.

17. The method of claim 16, where the information that identifies a power adjustment includes:

information that identifies a first power adjustment made to the optical transmission by a first component, of the plurality of components associated with the source entity, and

information that identifies a second power adjustment made to the optical transmission by a second component, of the plurality of components associated with the destination entity.

18. The method of claim 17, further comprising:

providing for display;

information that identifies an optical power received by the first component,

information that identifies an optical power received by the second component,

information that identifies an optical power transmitted by the first component, and

information that identifies an optical power transmitted by the second component.

19. The method of claim 17, further comprising:

providing for display;

information that identifies a time at which the first power adjustment was made, and

information that identifies a time at which the second power adjustment was made.

20. The method of claim 15, further comprising:

receiving information that identifies an alert associated with the optical link; and

providing, based on the information that identifies the alert, for display;

a representation of the alert,

a representation of the optical link associated with the alert, and

a representation of a severity level of the alert.
