Abstract

A terminal wearable by a user and a control method thereof are provided. The terminal includes: a body configured to wrap at least one region of a wrist and detachably formed; a sensing unit disposed in one surface of the body and configured to sense a movement of at least one of tendons passing through the wrist and the wrist; and a controller configured to generate a control signal for controlling an external device to execute a function previously matched to the sensed movement of the at least one of the tendons and the wrist.

Claims

1. A terminal comprising:

a body configured to detachably wrap around a wrist of a user;

a sensing unit positioned on a surface of the body that senses a movement of at least one of the wrist or one or more tendons passing through the wrist; and

a controller configured to execute a first function in response to the sensed movement, wherein the first function corresponds to the sensed movement.

2. The terminal of claim 1, further comprising:

a flexible display unit that is bowable and positioned on a first region of the body.

3. The terminal of claim 1, wherein:

the controller is configured to execute a plurality of functions corresponding to a plurality of movement characteristics of the user; and

wherein the movement characteristics comprise at least one of a shape of a finger, a movement speed of the finger, a movement speed of a hand, or a change in grasping power.

4. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller does not execute the first function until after a predetermined starting gesture is sensed.

5. The terminal of claim 2, wherein:

the controller is configured to execute a plurality of functions corresponding to a plurality of movement characteristics of the user; and

the flexible display unit displays guidance information related to the plurality of functions.

6. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller is configured to execute the first function and a second function, the first function comprising a camera function and the second function comprising a music function.

7. The terminal of claim 6, wherein:

the controller is configured to execute the first function according to a first finger movement; and

the controller is configured to execute the second function according to a second finger movement.

8. The terminal of claim 7, wherein the controller is configured to control a zoom function of a first camera according to a distance between the first finger and the second finger.

9. The terminal of claim 6, further comprising:

a plurality of cameras structured to be individually positioned at a plurality of positions of the body, and wherein the controller is configured to activate a first camera based on a direction faced by the wrist.

10. The terminal of claim 2, wherein:

the body comprises a camera sensor, wherein the camera sensor is configured to sense a first direction of the user'"'"'s eyes; and

the controller is configured to control a first display on the flexible display unit based on the first sensed direction of the user'"'"'s eyes.

11. The terminal of claim 10, wherein the controller is configured to change the first display based on the sensed movement of the wrist.

12. The terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller is further configured to cause the flexible display unit to display:

one or more selection target items on the first display region, wherein the controller is configured to select a first target item based on movements of tendons corresponding to a first movement of a first finger.

13. The terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller is further configured to cause the flexible display unit to display:

a first graphic object is displayed at a first position on the flexible display unit; and

the first graphic object is displayed at a second position on the flexible display unit based on a first movement of a first finger.

14. The terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller is further configured to cause the flexible display unit to display:

one or more selection target items are displayed on a first display region of the flexible display unit, wherein the controller is configured to select a first target item based on movements of tendons corresponding to two or more fingers contacting each other.

15. The terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller is further configured to:

determine a first position where the flexible display unit wraps around the wrist, wherein the first position determination comprises a determination of an area that the sensing unit and the wrist are in contact with each other; and

control a size of a first display region according to the determined first position.

16. The terminal of claim 15, wherein the controller is further configured to adjust a sensitivity of the sensing unit based on the determined first position.

17. The terminal of claim 1, further comprising:

a wireless communication unit configured to transmit a first control signal to an external device, wherein the first control signal is based on the sensed movement.

18. The terminal of claim 17, wherein the wireless communication unit is configured such that the first control signal is not transmitted to the external device until after a predetermined starting gesture is sensed by the sensing unit.

19. The terminal of claim 17, wherein:

the sensing unit further comprises;

a physical signal sensing unit configured to sense the movement, and

a bio-signal sensing unit configured to sense a first bio-signal measurable from the wrist; and

the controller is further configured to generate the first control signal based on at least one of the movement or the first bio-signal.

20. The terminal of claim 19, wherein the wireless communication unit is configured to transmit the first bio-signal to the external device together with the first control signal.
