Abstract

An information processing apparatus includes an interface unit configured to connect to a network, a storage unit configured to store data which is provided with an apparatus that is an issuer of the data request, a provision unit configured to accept a provision request for a provision of data to the apparatus that is an issuer of the data request from an information providing apparatus configured to communicate via the interface unit, and provide data stored in the storage unit to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request, an input unit configured to accept an input operation performed by a user, and a stopping unit configured to, in a case where a predefined condition is satisfied, make the provision unit stop the provision of the data to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request.

Claims

1. An information processing apparatus comprising:

an interface unit configured to connect to a network;

a storage unit configured to store data which is provided with an apparatus that is an issuer of the data request;

a provision unit configured to accept a provision request for a provision of data to the apparatus that is an issuer of the data request from an information providing apparatus configured to communicate via the interface unit, and provide data stored in the storage unit to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request;

an input unit configured to accept an input operation performed by a user; and

a stopping unit configured to, in a case where a predefined condition including a detection of the input operation performed by the user on the input unit is satisfied, make the provision unit stop the provision of the data to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the stopping unit makes the provision unit stop the provision of the data to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request, and further transmits information to the information providing apparatus to notify that the provision of the data is stopped.

3. A data provision method including a process performed by an information processing apparatus, the process comprising:

accepting a data provision request for a provision of data to an apparatus that is an issuer of the data request from an information providing apparatus configured to communicate via a network;

in response to the data request from the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request, providing data stored in a storage unit to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request;

detecting an input operation performed by a user on an input unit; and

in a case where a predefined condition including the detection of the input operation performed by the user is satisfied, stopping the provision of the data to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request.

The data provision method according to claim 3, wherein the process performed by the information processing apparatus includes stopping the provision of the data to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request, and further transmitting information to the information providing apparatus to notify that the provision of the data is stopped.

5. A computer-readable storage medium storing a data provision program, the program being configured to instruct a computer to execute a process comprising:

accepting a data provision request for a provision of data to an apparatus that is an issuer of a data request from an information providing apparatus configured to communicate via a network;

in response to the data request from the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request, providing data stored in a storage unit to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request;

detecting an input operation performed by a user on an input unit; and

in a case where a predefined condition including the detection of the input operation performed by the user is satisfied, stopping the provision of the data to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request.

The storage medium according to claim 5, wherein the process executed by the computer includes stopping the provision of the data to the apparatus that is the issuer of the data request, and further transmitting information to the information providing apparatus to notify that the provision of the data is stopped.

7. A data provision method executed in a network system including a plurality of information processing apparatuses and an information providing apparatus configured to provide data to the plurality of information processing apparatuses via a network, the method comprising:

a process performed by the information providing apparatus, including, when a first-stage data request is received from an information processing apparatus that is an issuer of a data request, transmitting, to an information processing apparatus which is one of the information processing apparatuses and which stores data associated with the data request in a storage unit, a provision request for a provision of data to the information processing apparatus that is the issuer of the data request and instructing the information processing apparatus that is the issuer of the data request to issue a second-stage data request to the information processing apparatus that is a sender of the provision request;

a process performed by an information processing apparatus which is one of the information processing apparatuses and which is a receiver of the provision request, including

in response to the second-stage data request from the information processing apparatus that is the issuer of the data request, providing data stored in the storage unit to the information processing apparatus that is the issuer of the data request,

detecting an input operation performed by a user on an input unit, and

in a case where a predefined condition including the detection of the input operation performed by the user is satisfied, stopping the provision of the data to the information processing apparatus that is the issuer of the data request.

8. The data provision method according to claim 7, wherein

the process performed by the information providing apparatus includes

determining a period within which the data provision request is valid, depending on a processing load on an information processing apparatus to which to transmit the provision request, and

transmitting information indicating the determined period together with the provision request, and

the process performed by the information processing apparatus which is one of the information processing apparatuses and which is the receiver of the provision request, includes, in response to the receiving the provision request, providing the data to the information processing apparatus that is the issuer of the data request over the period indicated by the transmitted information.

9. The data provision method according to claim 7, wherein the process performed by the information providing apparatus includes

in a case where the data associated with the data request has a size equal to or less than a predetermined value, transmitting the provision request preferentially to an information processing apparatus which is one of information processing apparatuses storing the data associated with the data request in a storage unit and which is relatively short in terms of a communication time, and

in a case where the data associated with the data request has a size equal to or greater than a predetermined value, transmitting the provision request preferentially to an information processing apparatus which is one of information processing apparatuses storing the data associated with the data request in a storage unit and which is relatively small in terms of a processing load.

10. The data provision method according to claim 8, wherein the process performed by the information providing apparatus includes

in a case where the data associated with the data request has a size equal to or less than a predetermined value, transmitting the provision request preferentially to an information processing apparatus which is one of information processing apparatuses storing the data associated with the data request in a storage unit and which is relatively short in terms of a communication time, and

in a case where the data associated with the data request has a size equal to or greater than a predetermined value, transmitting the provision request preferentially to an information processing apparatus which is one of information processing apparatuses storing the data associated with the data request in a storage unit and which is relatively small in terms of a processing load.
