Abstract

A process includes receiving a first communication on a first call associated with a first subscriber identity module (SIM) in an user equipment (UE). The process further includes receiving a second communications on a second call associated with a second SIM in the UE. The process also includes outputting from the UE the received first communications and the received second communications. The process further includes selectively transmitting communications from the UE to an active call selected from one of the first call or the second call.

Claims

1. A method of wireless communication, comprising:

receiving first communications on a first call associated with a first subscriber identity module (SIM) in an user equipment (UE);

receiving second communications on a second call associated with a second SIM in the UE;

outputting from the UE the received first communications and the received second communications; and

selectively transmitting communications from the UE to an active call selected from one of the first call or the second call.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising transmitting idle frames on an inactive call, in which the inactive call is one of the first call or the second call not selected for transmitting communications.

3. The method of claim 1, in which the first call uses a vocoder mode for the first communications and the second call also uses the vocoder mode for the second communications.

4. A method of wireless communication, comprising:

communicating in a first call associated with a first subscriber identity module (SIM) in an user equipment (UE), the first call using a vocoder mode; and

requesting the vocoder mode of the first SIM when setting up a second call associated with a second SIM in the UE.

5. The method of claim 4, further comprising:

outputting, from the UE, communications received on the first call and communications received on the second call;

selectively transmitting communications from the UE to either the first call or the second call.

6. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

means for receiving first communications on a first call associated with a first SIM in a UE;

means for receiving second communications on a second call associated with a second SIM in the UE;

means for outputting from the UE the received first communications and the received second communications; and

means for selectively transmitting communications from the UE to an active call selected from one of the first call or the second call.

7. The apparatus of claim 6, further comprising means for transmitting idle frames on an inactive call, in which the inactive call is one of the first call or the second call not selected for transmitting communications.

8. The apparatus of claim 6, in which the first call uses a vocoder mode for the first communications and the second call also uses the vocoder mode for the second communications.

9. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

means for communicating in a first call associated with a first subscriber identity module (SIM) in an user equipment (UE), the first call using a vocoder mode; and

means for requesting the vocoder mode of the first SIM when setting up a second call associated with a second SIM in the UE.

10. The apparatus of claim 9, further comprising:

means for outputting, from the UE, communications received on the first call and communications received on the second call; and

means for selectively transmitting communications from the UE to either the first call or the second call.

11. A computer program product for wireless communication in a wireless network, comprising:

a non-transitory computer-readable medium having non-transitory program code recorded thereon, the program code comprising;

program code to receive first communications on a first call associated with a first subscriber identity module (SIM) in an user equipment (UE);

program code to receive second communications on a second call associated with a second SIM in the UE;

program code to output from the UE the received first communications and the received second communications; and

program code to selectively transmit communications from the UE to an active call selected from one of the first call or the second call.

12. The computer program product of claim 11, the program code further comprising program code to transmit idle frames on an inactive call, in which the inactive call is one of the first call or the second call not selected for transmitting communications.

13. The computer program product of claim 11, in which the first call uses a vocoder mode for the first communications and the second call also uses the vocoder mode for the second communications.

14. A computer program product for wireless communication in a wireless network, comprising:

a non-transitory computer-readable medium having non-transitory program code recorded thereon, the program code comprising;

program code to communicate in a first call associated with a first subscriber identity module (SIM) in an user equipment (UE), the first call using a vocoder mode; and

program code to request the vocoder mode of the first SIM when setting up a second call associated with a second SIM in the UE.

15. The computer program product of claim 14, the program code further comprising:

program code to output, from the UE, communications received on the first call and communications received on the second call; and

program code to selectively transmit communications from the UE to either the first call or the second call.

16. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured;

to receive first communications on a first call associated with a first subscriber identity module (SIM) in an user equipment (UE);

to receive second communications on a second call associated with a second SIM in the UE;

to output from the UE the received first communications and the received second communications; and

to selectively transmit communications from the UE to an active call selected from one of the first call or the second call.

17. The apparatus of claim 16, the at least one processor being further configured to transmit idle frames on an inactive call, in which the inactive call is one of the first call or the second call not selected for transmitting communications.

18. The apparatus of claim 16, in which the first call uses a vocoder mode for the first communications and the second call also uses the vocoder mode for the second communications.

19. An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured;

to communicate in a first call associated with a first subscriber identity module (SIM) in an user equipment (UE), the first call using a vocoder mode; and

to request the vocoder mode of the first SIM when setting up a second call associated with a second SIM in the UE.

20. The apparatus of claim 19, the at least one processor being further configured:

to output, from the UE, communications received on the first call and communications received on the second call; and

to selectively transmit communications from the UE to either the first call or the second call.
