1. A method for monitoring assets throughout an organization, where data relating to such assets are stored and processed in disparate asset data sources, including a primary asset data source having one or more primary asset datasets, each primary asset dataset relating to an asset and containing primary asset data elements about the asset to which they relate, and one or more secondary asset data sources, each having one or more secondary asset datasets, each secondary asset dataset relating to an asset and containing secondary asset data elements about the asset to which they relate, the method comprising:

  • receiving, by an asset tracking module on a processor, the one or more primary asset datasets from a primary asset data source;

    for each secondary asset data source and each secondary asset dataset therein;

    obtaining, by an asset tracking module on a processor, a secondary asset dataset from the secondary asset data source;

    relating, by an asset tracking module on a processor, the secondary asset dataset to one of the one or more primary asset datasets;

    processing, by an asset tracking module on a processor, the one or more primary datasets and the related secondary datasets into processed asset datasets;

    storing, by an asset tracking module on a processor into a database on a computer readable medium, the processed asset datasets; and

    tracking, by an asset tracking module on a processor, the assets using the processed asset datasets.
