Abstract

A method of wireless communication is provided which includes determining a first cell identification (ID) for scrambling a first reference signal of a first enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH) and determining a second cell ID for scrambling a second reference signal of a second EPDCCH. The second cell ID is based at least in part on the first cell ID. The first reference signal and the second reference signal are mapped to a same set of resources. The method also includes transmitting the first EPDCCH and second EPDCCH.

Claims

1. A method of wireless communication, comprising:

determining a first cell identification (ID) for scrambling a first reference signal of a first enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH);

determining a second cell ID, based at least in part on the first cell ID, for scrambling a second reference signal of a second EPDCCH, the first reference signal and the second reference signal being mapped to a same set of resources; and

transmitting the first EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH.

2. The method of claim 1, in which the first reference signal and the second reference signal are mapped to a same set of antenna ports.

3. The method of claim 2, in which the first cell ID is the same as the second cell ID.

4. The method of claim 1, in which the first reference signal and the second reference signal are mapped to different sets of antenna ports, at least one antenna port of the first EPDCCH being code-division-multiplexed with at least one antenna port of the second EPDCCH.

5. The method of claim 4, in which the first cell ID is the same as the second cell ID.

6. The method of claim 4, in which the first cell ID is a physical cell ID and the second cell ID is a virtual cell ID.

7. The method of claim 4, in which the first cell ID is a first virtual cell ID and the second cell ID is a second virtual cell ID, the second virtual cell ID being different from the first virtual cell ID.

8. The method of claim 1, in which the first EPDCCH is a distributed EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH is a localized EPDCCH.

9. The method of claim 1, in which both the first EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH are distributed EPDCCH.

10. The method of claim 1, in which the first EPDCCH is a unicast EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH is a broadcast EPDCCH.

11. The method of claim 1, in which the first EPDCCH is from a common search space and the second EPDCCH is from a user equipment-specific search space.

12. An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

means for determining a first cell identification (ID) for scrambling a first reference signal of a first enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH);

means for determining a second cell ID, based at least in part on the first cell ID, for scrambling a second reference signal of a second EPDCCH, the first reference signal and the second reference signal being mapped to a same set of resources; and

means for transmitting the first EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH.

13. The apparatus of claim 12, in which the first reference signal and the second reference signal are mapped to a same set of antenna ports.

14. The apparatus of claim 13, in which the first cell ID is the same as the second cell ID.

15. The apparatus of claim 12, in which the first reference signal and the second reference signal are mapped to different sets of antenna ports, at least one antenna port of the first EPDCCH being code-division-multiplexed with at least one antenna port of the second EPDCCH.

16. The apparatus of claim 15, in which the first cell ID is the same as the second cell ID.

17. A computer program product for wireless communications, the computer program product comprising:

a non-transitory computer-readable medium having program code recorded thereon, the program code comprising;

program code to determine a first cell identification (ID) for scrambling a first reference signal of a first enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH);

program code to determine a second cell ID, based at least in part on the first cell ID, for scrambling a second reference signal of a second EPDCCH, the first reference signal and the second reference signal being mapped to a same set of resources; and

program code to transmit the first EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH.

18. The computer program product of claim 17, in which the first reference signal and the second reference signal are mapped to a same set of antenna ports.

19. The computer program product of claim 18, in which the first cell ID is the same as the second cell ID.

20. The computer program product of claim 17, in which the first reference signal and the second reference signal are mapped to different sets of antenna ports, at least one antenna port of the first EPDCCH being code-division-multiplexed with at least one antenna port of the second EPDCCH.

21. The computer program product of claim 20, in which the first cell ID is the same as the second cell ID.

22. An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor being configured;

to determine a first cell identification (ID) for scrambling a first reference signal of a first enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH);

to determine a second cell ID, based at least in part on the first cell ID, for scrambling a second reference signal of a second EPDCCH, the first reference signal and the second reference signal being mapped to a same set of resources; and

to transmit the first EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH.

23. The apparatus of claim 22, in which the first reference signal and the second reference signal are mapped to a same set of antenna ports.

24. The apparatus of claim 23, in which the first cell ID is the same as the second cell ID.

25. The apparatus of claim 22, in which the first reference signal and the second reference signal are mapped to different sets of antenna ports, at least one antenna port of the first EPDCCH being code-division-multiplexed with at least one antenna port of the second EPDCCH.

26. The apparatus of claim 25, in which the first cell ID is the same as the second cell ID.

27. The apparatus of claim 25, in which the first cell ID is a physical cell ID and the second cell ID is a virtual cell ID.

28. The apparatus of claim 25, in which the first cell ID is a first virtual cell ID and the second cell ID is a second virtual cell ID, the second virtual cell ID being different from the first virtual cell ID.

29. The apparatus of claim 22, in which the first EPDCCH is a distributed EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH is a localized EPDCCH.

30. The apparatus of claim 22, in which both the first EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH are distributed EPDCCH.

31. The apparatus of claim 22, in which the first EPDCCH is a unicast EPDCCH and the second EPDCCH is a broadcast EPDCCH.

32. The apparatus of claim 22, in which the first EPDCCH is from a common search space and the second EPDCCH is from a user equipment-specific search space.
