Abstract

A mobile device and method for a messenger-based video call service using camera preview image and voice information are provided. In the method, the mobile device displays a camera preview screen by executing a camera, and detects an input for selecting one or more sharers for a video call from the camera preview screen. Then, the mobile device executes a messenger for providing the video call service, transmits a connection request to the selected sharers through the messenger, and performs the messenger-based video call with the sharers in response to the connection request.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

displaying a camera preview screen by executing a camera function;

detecting an input for selecting one or more sharers for a video call on the camera preview screen;

executing a messenger application for initiating a messenger-based video call service;

transmitting a connection request to the selected sharers through the messenger application; and

performing the messenger-based video call with the selected sharers based on a response to the connection request.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the camera execution function is executed in response to detecting a request for camera execution.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the camera preview screen is displayed through a front camera or a rear camera of the mobile device.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein detecting the sharer selecting input includes:

extracting information about messenger members from a messenger application that provides the video call service;

displaying a list of the extracted messenger members; and

detecting a selection of the sharers for the video call from the messenger member list.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein performing the messenger-based video call includes displaying a preview sharing screen reconstructed from the camera preview image and shared with the selected sharers.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the performing the messenger-based video call includes converting image data outputted through the camera into messenger-based image data and transmitting the converted data.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

after performing the messenger-based video call,

executing a selected function of the mobile device in an environment of the video call service;

creating data associated with the execution of the selected function; and

transmitting the created data to the sharers.

The method of claim 7, wherein executing the selected function includes executing at least one of a screen ratio adjustment function, a mute control function, a camera switch function, an image capture function, a handwriting function, a location indication function, a data transmission function, an audio recording function, and a camera function control authority setting function.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

displaying a list of other sharers in response to receiving no response to the connection request; and

selecting at least one of the other sharers for performing the messenger-based video call.

9. The method of clam 1, further comprising:

transmitting a camera control authority request signal by a first mobile device to a second mobile device to transfer a control authority;

In response to receiving an accept response signal responsive to the camera control authority request signal, displaying the camera preview screen by the first mobile device; and

controlling the camera function of the first mobile device by the second mobile device;

11. A mobile device for a messenger-based video call service, comprising:

a wireless communication unit configured to access a messenger server and to transmit or receive messenger data to or from the messenger server;

a touch screen configured to display a camera preview screen and to display a preview sharing screen restructured from the camera preview image; and

a control unit configured to detect an input for selecting one or more sharers for a video call from the camera preview screen, to execute a messenger application for initiating the video call service, to transmit a connection request to the selected sharers through the messenger application, and to perform the messenger-based video call with the selected sharers in response to the connection request.

The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the control unit is further configured to extract information about messenger members from a messenger application that provides the video call service, to display a list of the extracted messenger members, and to detect a selection of the sharers for the video call from the messenger member list.

13. The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the control unit is further configured to control the touch screen to display the preview sharing screen shared with the selected sharers.

14. The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the control unit is further configured to convert image data outputted through the camera into messenger-based image data and to control the wireless communication unit to transmit the converted data.

15. The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the control unit is further configured to execute a selected function of the mobile device in an environment of the video call service, to create data associated with the execution of the selected function, and to transmit the created data to the sharers.

The mobile device of claim 15, wherein the selected function includes at least one of a screen ratio adjustment function, a mute control function, a camera switch function, an image capture function, a handwriting function, a location indication function, a data transmission function, an audio recording function, and a camera function control authority setting function.

17. The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the control unit is further configured to transmit a camera control authority request signal by the mobile device to another mobile device to transfer a control authority;

in response to receiving an accept response signal responsive to the camera control authority request signal, displaying the camera preview screen by the mobile device; and

controlling the camera function of the mobile device by the another mobile device;

18. The mobile device of claim 11, wherein the control unit is further configured to display a list of other sharers in response to receiving no response to the connection request;

and select at least one of the other sharers for performing the messenger-based video call.
