Abstract

A number of landings of an aircraft tyre is counted according to a method that includes: measuring a physical quantity of air contained inside the tyre, the measuring taking place in a discontinuous mode; determining at least one indicator relating to the physical quantity; comparing the at least one indicator with a predetermined threshold associated with the tyre; and, if the at least one indicator is greater than the predetermined threshold associated with the tyre, incrementing the number of landings of the tyre.

12. A method for counting a number of landings of an aircraft tyre, the method comprising steps of:

measuring, in a discontinuous mode, a physical quantity of air contained inside the tyre;

determining at least one indicator relating to the physical quantity;

comparing the at least one indicator with a predetermined threshold associated with the tyre; and

,

if the at least one indicator is determined to be greater than the predetermined threshold associated with the tyre, incrementing a stored number of landings of the tyre.

13. The method according to claim 12, wherein a sequence of measurements of the physical quantity is triggered when an initiation of a tyre movement is detected.

14. The method according to claim 12, wherein an indicator of the at least one indicator is a time variation of the physical quantity over a predetermined interval of time.

15. The method according to claim 13, wherein the physical quantity is measured at regular intervals of time.

16. The method according to claim 14, wherein the physical quantity is measured at regular intervals of time.

17. The method according to claim 12, wherein the physical quantity is chosen from:

temperature and pressure.

18. The method according to claim 14, wherein the physical quantity is chosen from:

temperature and pressure.

19. A device for counting a number of landings of an aircraft tyre, the device comprising:

measurement means for discontinuously measuring a physical quantity of air contained inside the tyre;

determination means for determining an indicator relating to the physical quantity;

comparison means for comparing the indicator with a predetermined threshold associated with the tyre; and

incrementation means for incrementing a stored number of landings of the tyre.

20. The device according to claim 19, further comprising:

detection means for detecting an initiation of movement of the tyre; and

activation means for activating the measurement means,

wherein the measurement means is activatable based on an output of the detection means.

21. The device according to claim 19, wherein the device is incorporated in the aircraft tyre.

22. The device according to claim 20, wherein the device is incorporated in the aircraft tyre.

23. The device according to claim 19, wherein the device is incorporated in an aircraft wheel.

24. The device according to claim 20, wherein the device is incorporated in an aircraft wheel.

25. The device according to claim 21, wherein the aircraft tyre is incorporated in an aircraft.

26. The device according to claim 22, wherein the aircraft tyre is incorporated in an aircraft.

27. The device according to claim 23, wherein the aircraft wheel is incorporated in an aircraft.

28. The device according to claim 24, wherein the aircraft wheel is incorporated in an aircraft.

29. The device according to claim 19, wherein the device is incorporated in a valve.

30. The device according to claim 20, wherein the device is incorporated in a valve.

31. A device for counting a number of landings of an aircraft tyre, the device comprising:

a probe that discontinuously measures a physical quantity of air contained inside the tyre; and

a computer controller programmed to;

determine an indicator relating to the physical quantity,

compare the indicator with a predetermined threshold associated with the tyre, and

increment a stored number of landings of the tyre.

32. The device according to claim 31, further comprising a sensor that detects an initiation of movement of the tyre, wherein the probe is activatable by the computer controller, and wherein the computer controller is programmed to activate the probe based on an output of the sensor.

33. The device according to claim 31, wherein the device is incorporated in the aircraft tyre.

34. The device according to claim 32, wherein the device is incorporated in the aircraft tyre.
