Abstract

A system and method for example method for displaying enterprise data via a user interface display. An example method includes providing a first user option to select enterprise data to be displayed, yielding selected data in response thereto; employing a capsule to present a visualization or infographic characterizing at least a portion of the selected data; and providing a second user option to flip or rotate the capsule, thereby displaying additional enterprise data that is related to or representative of the selected data or portion thereof. In a specific embodiment, the first user option includes a slider bar that enables a user to specify a time frame to filter the enterprise data.

Claims

1. A method for selectively presenting enterprise data via a user interface display, the method comprising:

providing a first user option to select enterprise data to be displayed, yielding selected data in response thereto, wherein the data to be displayed includes data pertaining to a human resource;

employing a capsule to present a visualization characterizing at least a portion of the selected data; and

providing a second user option to flip or rotate the capsule, thereby displaying, via the capsule, additional enterprise data, which is related to the selected data or portion thereof.

2. The method of claim 1, further including providing a third user option to trigger a comparison, via the visualization, of data associated with the human resource with other data associated with a group of one or more human resources.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the first user option further includes an option to add one or more capsules to a user interface display, wherein each of the one or more capsules is adapted to present a different set of data pertaining to the human resource.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the visualization includes a graph depicting the selected data for a time interval specified via a slider bar, wherein the slider bar is adapted to enable a user to specify a time frame associated with the enterprise data, yielding the selected data in response thereto.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the selected data includes one or more indications of salary.

6. The method of claim 4, wherein the selected data includes one or more talent scores.

7. The method of claim 4, wherein the selected data includes one or more performance ratings.

8. The method of claim 4, wherein the selected data includes one or more social network metrics.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the one or more social network metrics includes an indication of a level of collaboration between the human resource and other human resources in the enterprise social network of the human resource.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein one or more social network metrics includes a measurement of content created by the human resource within the specified time interval.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the one or more social network metrics includes an indication of a percentage of times that the human resource responds to content created by other human resources in the enterprise social network of the human resource within the specified time interval.

12. The method of claim 9, wherein the one or more social network metrics includes an indication of a number of social network connections characterizing the social network of the human resource.

13. The method of claim 4, wherein the selected data includes an overall score associated with the human resource.

14. The method of claim 1, further including providing a fourth user option to compare selected data associated with the human resource with corresponding data pertaining to a group of human resources within an organization.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the fourth user option further includes a user option to simultaneously illustrate the selected data and the corresponding data via a visualization.

16. The method of claim 15, further including providing a fifth user option to select a feature of the visualization to flip the capsule, which contains the visualization.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the visualization includes a graph, and the feature includes a data point depicted on the graph.

18. The method of claim 15, wherein the fourth user option includes a user interface control for enabling a user to select the group of human resources.

19. An apparatus comprising:

a digital processor coupled to a display and to a processor-readable storage device, wherein the processor-readable storage device includes one or more instructions executable by the digital processor to perform the following acts;

providing a first user option to select enterprise data to be displayed, yielding selected data in response thereto, wherein the data to be displayed includes data pertaining to a human resource;

employing a capsule to present a visualization characterizing at least a portion of the selected data; and

providing a second user option to flip or rotate the capsule, thereby displaying, via the capsule, additional enterprise data, which is related to the selected data or portion thereof.

20. A processor-readable storage device including instructions executable by a digital processor, the processor-readable storage device including one or more instructions for:

providing a first user option to select enterprise data to be displayed, yielding selected data in response thereto, wherein the data to be displayed includes data pertaining to a human resource;

employing a capsule to present a visualization characterizing at least a portion of the selected data; and

providing a second user option to flip or rotate the capsule, thereby displaying, via the capsule, additional enterprise data, which is related to the selected data or portion thereof.
