Abstract

A method for editing the playback speed of a partial sequence of video and a digital device therefor are disclosed. A video editing method includes providing a timeline interface corresponding to a video sequence, receiving a first user input for specifying a first location on the timeline interface and a second user input for specifying a second location on the timeline interface, setting an editing interval between the first location and the second location of the timeline interface, receiving a third user input with respect to the editing interval, adjusting at least one of the thickness and length of the editing interval in response to the third user input, and editing playback attributes of the partial sequence based on the adjusted thickness and length of the editing interval.

Claims

1. A digital device comprising:

a processor configured to control an operation of the digital device;

a sensor unit configured to receive a touch input and transmit the touch input to the processor; and

a display unit configured to output images based on a command of the processor, wherein the processor is further configured to;

display a timeline interface corresponding to a video sequence, wherein the timeline interface includes a plurality of thumbnail images of the video sequence, a first body part and a first adjustment part, a second body part and a second adjustment part, wherein the first body part and the first adjustment part are vertically in line and the second body part and the second adjustment part are vertically in line,

receive a first touch input of sliding with respect to the first adjustment part, wherein direction of the first touch input of sliding is distance from the second adjustment part,

adjust location of the first adjustment part based on the first touch input of sliding, wherein location of the first body part is adjusted according to the location of the first adjustment part,

receive a second touch input of sliding with respect to the second adjustment part, wherein direction of the second touch input of sliding is distance from the first adjustment part,

adjust location of the second adjustment part based on the second touch input of sliding, wherein location of the second body part is adjusted according to the location of the second adjustment part,

set a first playback interval between the first body part and the second body part, wherein the first playback interval corresponds to a partial sequence of the video sequence,

set a second playback interval, wherein the second playback interval corresponds to at least a part of the video sequence except the partial sequence,

set a playback speed of the first playback interval and the second playback interval, wherein the playback speed of the first playback interval is slower than the playback speed of the second playback interval.

2. The digital device according to claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to set the first playback interval by the first touch input of sliding and the second touch input of sliding.

3. The digital device according to claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to set the first playback interval based on the location shifting of the first adjustment part and the second adjustment part.

4. The digital device according to claim 1, wherein a first indicator includes the first body part and the first adjustment part and a second indicator includes the second body part and the second adjustment part.

5. The digital device according to claim 4, wherein location of the first indicator corresponds to a first frame of the video sequence and location of the second indicator corresponds to a second frame of the video sequence.

The digital device according to claim 1, wherein the first touch input of sliding corresponds to shifting the first adjustment part while holding the first body part of the first indicator and the second touch input of sliding corresponds to shifting the second adjustment part while holding the second body part of the second indicator.

7. The digital device according to claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to generate freeze frame based on adjusting the first adjustment part and the second adjustment part.

8. The digital device according to claim 7, wherein the processor is further configured to generate a first freeze frame of the first frame in response to the adjusted first adjustment part and a second freeze frame of the second frame in response to the adjusted second adjustment part.

9. The digital device according to claim 8, wherein playback duration of the first freeze frame is determined based on the displacement of the first adjustment part and a playback duration of the second freeze frame is determined based on the displacement of the second adjustment part.

10. The digital device according to claim 1, wherein thickness of the first playback interval and thickness of the second playback interval is same.

11. The digital device according to claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to display at least one thumbnail image of the video sequence at a preset interval on the timeline interface,

wherein the thumbnail image indicates an image of a frame of the video sequence corresponding to the location of the timeline interface.

12. The digital device according to claim 4, wherein the processor is further configured to provide an interface for deleting at least one of the first indicator and the second indicator, and

release setting of the first playback interval in response to a touch input at least one of the first indicator and the second indicator.

13. The digital device according to claim 4, wherein the processor is further configured to provide a first track interface for a copy and paste operation of the partial sequence in correspondence to the timeline interface, and

provide a paste indicator which is movable on the first track interface and corresponds to a copied sequence of the partial sequence.

14. The digital device according to claim 13, wherein the processor is further configured to provide a second track interface for a cut and paste operation of the partial sequence in correspondence to the timeline interface.

15. The digital device according to claim 14, wherein the first track interface is activated by a third touch input.

16. The digital device according to claim 15, wherein the paste indicator is movable on at least one of the first track interface and the second track interface and the third user input is an input of shifting the paste indicator on at least one of the first track and the second track.

17. The digital device according to claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to generate additional information corresponding to the edited playback speed of the partial sequence.

18. The digital device according to claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to display image of a frame corresponding to the adjusted first body part on the display unit, and

display image of a frame corresponding to the adjusted second body part on the display unit,

19. The digital device according to claim 5, wherein the processor is further configured to adjust location of the first frame and display image of the first frame of the video sequence when the first adjustment part is adjusted.

20. A video editing method comprising:

displaying a timeline interface corresponding to a video sequence, wherein the timeline interface includes a plurality of thumbnail images of the video sequence, a first body part and a first adjustment part, a second body part and a second adjustment part, wherein the first body part and the first adjustment part are vertically in line and the second body part and the second adjustment part are vertically in line;

receiving a first touch input of sliding with respect to the first adjustment part, wherein direction of the touch input of sliding is distance from the second adjustment part;

adjusting location of the first adjustment part based on the first touch input of sliding, wherein location of the first body part is adjusted according to the location of the first adjustment part;

receiving a second touch input of sliding with respect to the second adjustment part, wherein direction of the second touch input of sliding is distance from the first adjustment part;

adjusting location of the second adjustment part based on the second touch input of sliding, wherein location of the second body part is adjusted according to the location of the second adjustment part;

setting a first playback interval between the first body part and the second body part, wherein the first playback interval corresponds to a partial sequence of the video sequence;

setting a second playback interval, wherein the second playback interval corresponds to at least a part of the video sequence except the partial sequence; and

setting a playback speed of the first playback interval and the second playback interval, wherein the playback speed of the first playback interval is slower than playback speed of the second playback interval.
