Abstract

A recovery workflow related to processing the cancellation of a subscription order is determined. A request for cancelling processing of the subscription order is received. A provisioning task related to the service, a stage related to the provisioning task and a state of execution related to the provisioning task is identified. A recovery workflow is executed based on the provisioning task related to the service, the stage related to the provisioning task and the state of execution related to the provisioning task

Claims

1. A method comprising:

storing, by a cloud infrastructure system, a subscription order related to one or more services subscribed to by a customer, the service selected from one or more services provided by the cloud infrastructure system, the cloud infrastructure system comprising one or more computing devices;

receiving, by a first computing device of one or more computing devices comprising a cloud infrastructure system, a request for cancelling processing of the subscription order;

identifying, by the first computing device, the service being provisioned for the subscription order;

identifying, by the computing device, a provisioning task related to the service, a stage related to the provisioning task and a state of execution related to the provisioning task; and

executing, by the computing device, a recovery workflow related to cancelling the processing of the subscription order based on the provisioning task related to the service, the stage related to the provisioning task and the state of execution related to the provisioning task.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the recovery workflow specifies a set of steps to perform a rollback of the provisioning task for the identified service to a previous stage in the provisioning task.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein the previous stage restores the provisioning task that is being performed for the identified service to a stable state.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the provisioning task related to the service comprises a service instance creation task for creating a service instance for the service being provisioned.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the provisioning task related to the service comprises a service instance scale-up task for switching a service instance to an increased service level.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the provisioning task related to the service comprises a service instance association task for associating a first service instance to a second service instance.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein the state of execution related to the provisioning task comprises at least one of a completed state, an in-progress state and a not-yet-started state.

8. A system comprising:

one or more computing devices configurable to provide one or more services;

a memory configurable to store subscription order information related to a subscription order ordering one or more services from a set of services; and

wherein a computing device from the one or more computing devices is configurable to;

receive a request for cancelling processing of the subscription order;

identify the service being provisioned for the subscription order;

identify a provisioning task related to the service, a stage related to the provisioning task and a state of execution related to the provisioning task; and

execute a recovery workflow related to cancelling the processing of the subscription order based on the provisioning task related to the service, the stage related to the provisioning task and the state of execution related to the provisioning task.

9. The system of claim 8 wherein the recovery workflow specifies a set of steps to perform a rollback of the provisioning task for the identified service to a previous stage in the provisioning task.

10. The system of claim 9 wherein the previous stage restores the provisioning task that is being performed for the identified service to a stable state.

11. The system of claim 8 wherein the provisioning task related to the service comprises a service instance creation task for creating a service instance for the service being provisioned.

12. The system of claim 8 wherein the provisioning task related to the service comprises a service instance scale-up task for switching a service instance to an increased service level.

13. The system of claim 8 wherein the provisioning task related to the service comprises a service instance association task for associating a first service instance to a second service instance.

14. The system of claim 8 wherein the state of execution related to the provisioning task comprises at least one of a completed state, an in-progress state and a not-yet-started state.

15. A computer-readable memory storing a plurality of instructions executable by one or more processors, the plurality of instructions comprising:

instructions that cause at least one processor from the one or more processors to store subscription order information related to a subscription order ordering one or more services from a set of services;

instructions that cause at least one processor from the one or more processors to receive a request for cancelling processing of the subscription order;

instructions that cause at least one processor from the one or more processors to identify the service being provisioned for the subscription order;

instructions that cause at least one processor from the one or more processors to identify a provisioning task related to the service, a stage related to the provisioning task and a state of execution related to the provisioning task; and

instructions that cause at least one processor from the one or more processors to execute a recovery workflow related to cancelling the processing of the subscription order based on the provisioning task related to the service, the stage related to the provisioning task and the state of execution related to the provisioning task.

16. The computer-readable memory of claim 15 wherein the recovery workflow specifies a set of steps to perform a rollback of the provisioning task for the identified service to a previous stage in the provisioning task.

17. The computer-readable memory of claim 16 wherein the previous stage restores the provisioning task that is being performed for the identified service to a stable state.

18. The computer-readable memory of claim 15 wherein the provisioning task related to the service comprises a service instance creation task for creating a service instance for the service being provisioned.

19. The computer-readable memory of claim 16 wherein the provisioning task related to the service comprises a service instance scale-up task for switching a service instance to an increased service level.

20. The computer-readable memory of claim 16 wherein the provisioning task related to the service comprises a service instance association task for associating a first service instance to a second service instance.
