Abstract

Described is a method and system for retrieving and serving the regulatory history of a property. An identification of data sources for permits and approvals is stored in a computer system. Property identifiers from the data sources are stored in the computer system. The system identifies the types of permit and approval data available from each of the data sources for each of the property identifiers. A determination can be made of the completeness of the regulatory history available for each property associated with each of said property identifiers. The system receives a request for the regulatory history of at least one of the properties associated with the property identifiers. A web page is populated with a list of the regulatory history for the property.

Claims

1. A method of retrieving and serving the regulatory history of a property, comprising:

storing an identification of data sources for permits and approvals in a computer system;

storing in said computer system a plurality of property identifiers from a plurality of said data sources;

identifying types of permit and approval data available from each of said plurality of data sources for each of said plurality of property identifiers;

receiving a request for the regulatory history of at least one of said properties associated with said property identifiers;

using at least one property identifier retrieved from a data source to retrieve permit and approval data from at lest one alternate data source; and

populating a web page with a list of the regulatory history for said at least one property.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of determining the completeness of the regulatory history available for each property associated with each of said property identifiers.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein said step of storing an identification comprises retrieving said identification from a web server.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein said step of storing a plurality of property identifiers comprises retrieving said property identifiers from said plurality of data sources.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein regulatory history comprises permit and approval data available through the internet from data sources having permit and approval data to access a complete record of permits and approvals for a particular property.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein said data sources comprise data available through the internet.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein said data sources comprise webservers.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein said data sources comprise governmental authority data sources.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein said data sources comprise governmental authority websites.

10. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of overlaying as data layers GIS data, including spatial coordinates, from each data source.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein said step of storing in said computer system, comprises querying a database to extract or identify the location of said permit and approval data.
