Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems and methods for providing archival support for one or more services provided by a cloud infrastructure system. One such method comprises receiving a message corresponding to an archive trigger event, and determining based on the message one or more services subscribed to by a customer of a cloud infrastructure system which are to be archived. The method further comprises sending an instruction to the one or more services to archive customer information, and storing each archive in an archive directory accessible to the customer.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a cloud infrastructure system comprising one or more computing devices, a message corresponding to an archive trigger event;

determining based on the message, by a computing device from the one or more computing devices, one or more services subscribed to by a customer of the cloud infrastructure system which are to be archived;

sending an instruction, by the computing device, to the one or more services to archive customer information, wherein each of the one or more services creates an archive; and

storing, by the computing device, each archive in an archive directory accessible to the customer.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the archive trigger event is one of a request to terminate the one or more services from the customer'"'"'s subscription, a request to suspend the one or more services, a periodically scheduled backup, and an on-demand backup.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein each archive is stored in an SFTP file server.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the instruction includes a location to store each archive, wherein the location is accessible to the computing device and the one or more services.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

receiving, from each of the one or more services, a message indicating that the service-specific archive has been created and a location where the service-specific archive has been stored.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein each archive is associated with a policy which defines how long the archive is stored in the archive directory.

7. The method of claim 6 wherein the archive policy is based on the customer'"'"'s subscription.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein each archive is a compressed file archive.

14. The system of claim 1 wherein the TAS module includes an archive policy module which stores policies associated with each archive, wherein the policies define how long each archive is stored in the archive directory.

15. The system of claim 14 wherein the archive policy is based on the customer'"'"'s subscription.

16. The system of claim 1 wherein each archive is a compressed file archive.

9. A system comprising:

a cloud infrastructure system comprising one or more computing devices, wherein the cloud infrastructure system provides a plurality of services to which customers can subscribe;

a tenant automation system (TAS) module, executing on the one or more computing devices, wherein the TAS module is configured to

receive a message corresponding to an archive trigger event, and

determine, based on the message, one or more services subscribed to by a customer of the cloud infrastructure system which are to be archived; and

a service deployment infrastructure (SDI) module, executing on the one or more computing devices, wherein the SDI module is configured to

send an instruction to the one or more services to archive customer information, wherein each of the one or more services creates an archive, and

store each archive in an archive directory accessible to the customer.

10. The system of claim 9 wherein the archive trigger event is one of a request to terminate the one or more services from the customer'"'"'s subscription, a request to suspend the one or more services, a periodically scheduled backup, and an on-demand backup.

11. The system of claim 9 wherein each archive is stored in an SFTP file server.

12. The system of claim 9 wherein the instruction includes a location to store each archive, wherein the location is accessible to the computing device and the one or more services.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein the SDI module is further configured to:

receive, from each of the one or more services, a message indicating that the service-specific archive has been created and a location where the service-specific archive has been stored.

17. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium including instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform the steps of:

receiving a message corresponding to an archive trigger event;

determining based on the message, one or more services subscribed to by a customer of a cloud infrastructure system which are to be archived;

sending an instruction to the one or more services to archive customer information, wherein each of the one or more services creates an archive; and

storing each archive in an archive directory accessible to the customer.

The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 17 wherein the archive trigger event is one of a request to terminate the one or more services from the customer'"'"'s subscription, a request to suspend the one or more services, a periodically scheduled backup, and an on-demand backup.

19. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 17 wherein each archive is stored in an SFTP file server.

20. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 17 wherein each archive is associated with a policy which defines how long the archive is stored in the archive directory.
