Abstract

Methods, computer systems, and computer readable media for transitioning a clinical care room from a first scene to a second scene in order to facilitate completion of a real-world activity are provided. The first scene in the clinical care room is presented where the clinical care room has one or more zones. The first scene is associated with a first group of setting for components within the one or more zones. An input corresponding to the real-world activity is received. Incident to receiving the input, the second scene is provided. The second scene is associated with a second group of settings for the components. The second group of setting is optimized to facilitate completion of the real-world activity.

Claims

1. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media having embodied thereon computer-useable instructions which, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform a method for automatically and without human intervention transitioning a patient'"'"'s clinical care room from a first scene to a second scene in order to facilitate completion of a real-world activity associated with the patient, the method comprising:

presenting the first scene in the clinical care room, the clinical care room having one or more zones comprising a clinician zone, a patient zone and a family zone, and the first scene being associated with a first group of settings for components within the one or more zones, the components comprising at least a patient bed in the patient zone;

detecting a triggering input corresponding to the real-world activity associated with the patient; and

incident to detecting the triggering input, automatically and without human intervention transitioning to a second scene in the patient zone to facilitate the completion of the real-world activity, wherein transitioning to the second scene in the patient zone comprises implementing a second group of settings for the patient bed such that a position of the patient bed is modified.

2. The non-transitory media of claim 1, wherein the second scene comprises a reading scene.

3. The non-transitory media of claim 2, wherein the triggering input for the reading scene comprises receiving a request from the patient for the reading scene.

4. The non-transitory media of claim 3, wherein implementing the second group of settings for the patient bed in the reading scene comprises automatically and without human intervention adjusting a head of the patient bed such that the patient'"'"'s head is elevated to facilitate reading.

5. The non-transitory media of claim 4, wherein the components in the clinical care room further comprise a lighting system and an acoustic system.

6. The non-transitory media of claim 5, further comprising implementing a second group of setting for the lighting system and the acoustic system.

7. The non-transitory media of claim 6, wherein the second group of settings for the lighting system comprises automatically and without human intervention illuminating the patient zone, and wherein the second group of settings for the acoustic system comprises minimizing acoustic outputs in the patient zone.

8. A computerized method carried out by a server having one or more processors for performing a method for automatically and without human intervention transitioning a patient'"'"'s clinical care room from a first scene to a second scene in order to facilitate completion of a real-world activity associated with the patient, the method comprising:

presenting, using the one or more processors, the first scene in the clinical care room, the clinical care room having one or more zones comprising a clinician zone, a patient zone and a family zone, and the first scene being associated with a first group of settings for components within the one or more zones, the components comprising at least a patient bed in the patient zone;

detecting a triggering input corresponding to the real-world activity associated with the patient; and

incident to detecting the triggering input, automatically and without human intervention transitioning, utilizing the one or more processors, to a second scene in the patient zone to facilitate the completion of the real-world activity, wherein transitioning to the second scene in the patient zone comprises implementing a second group of settings for the patient bed such that a position of the patient bed is modified.

9. The computerized method of claim 8, wherein the second scene comprises a relaxation scene.

10. The computerized method of claim 9, wherein the triggering input for the relaxation scene comprises receiving a request for the relaxation scene.

The computerized method of claim 10, wherein implementing the second group of setting for the patient bed in the relaxation scheme comprises automatically and without human intervention adjusting a head of the patient bed such that the patient'"'"'s head is slightly elevated to facilitate relaxation.

12. The computerized method of claim 11, wherein the components in the clinical care room further comprise a lighting system and an acoustic system.

13. The computerized method of claim 12, further comprising implementing a second group of setting for the lighting system and the acoustic system.

14. The computerized method of claim 13, wherein the second group of settings for the lighting system comprises automatically and without human intervention providing a minimal amount of illumination to the clinical care room, and wherein the second group of settings for the acoustic system comprises initiating play of music.

15. A system for automatically and without human intervention transitioning a patient'"'"'s clinical care room from a first scene to a second scene in order to facilitate completion of a real-world activity associated with the patient, the clinical care room having one or more zones comprising a clinician zone, a patient zone, and a family zone, the system comprising:

a computing device associated with the clinical care room, the computing device having one or more processors and one or more computer-readable media; and

a data store coupled with the clinical care room,

wherein the computing device;

implements a first group of settings for components within the one or more zones in the clinical care room in order to present the first scene, the components comprising at least a patient bed in the patient zone;

detects a triggering input corresponding to the real-world activity associated with the patient; and

incident to detecting the triggering input, automatically and without human intervention transitions to the second scene in the patient zone to facilitate the completion of the real-world activity, wherein transitioning to the second scene in the patient zone comprises implementing a second group of setting for the patient bed such that a position of the patient bed is modified.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the second scene comprises a physical therapy scene.

17. The system of claim 16, wherein the triggering input for the physical therapy scene comprises receiving an input indicating that the patient is ready to begin a prescribed physical therapy session.

The system of claim 17, wherein implementing the second group of settings for the patient bed in the physical therapy scene comprises automatically and without human intervention adjusting the patient bed to facilitate patient movements associated with the prescribed physical therapy, wherein the adjustment is dependent upon the type of physical therapy prescribed.

19. The system of claim 18, wherein the components in the clinical care room further comprise a lighting system and an acoustic system.

The system of claim 19, further comprising implementing a second group of settings for the lighting system and the acoustic system, wherein the second group of settings for the lighting system comprises automatically and without human intervention illuminating the patient zone, and wherein the second group of settings for the acoustic system comprises automatically and without human intervention minimizing acoustic outputs in the patient zone.
