Abstract

A method for transmitting an image and an electronic device thereof are provided. An image transmission method of an electronic device includes displaying a message transmission/reception history with at least one other electronic device, sensing a selection of a camera execution menu, displaying a preview screen of a camera within a screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed, detecting a touch on the displayed preview screen, if the displayed preview screen is touched, capturing an image of a subject, detecting a gesture for the captured image, and, if the gesture for the captured image is detected, transmitting the captured image to the at least one other electronic device according to the detected gesture.

Claims

1. A method of an electronic device, the method comprising:

displaying a message transmission/reception history with at least one other electronic device;

sensing a selection of a camera execution menu;

displaying a preview screen of a camera within a screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed;

detecting a touch on the displayed preview screen;

if the displayed preview screen is touched, capturing an image of a subject;

detecting a gesture for the captured image; and

if the gesture for the captured image is detected, transmitting the captured image to the at least one other electronic device according to the detected gesture.

The method of claim 1, wherein the displaying of the preview screen of the camera within the screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed comprises displaying the preview screen of the camera in any region of the screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the displaying of the preview screen of the camera within the screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed comprises displaying the preview screen of the camera within a talk balloon comprising a transmission message.

The method of claim 1, wherein the displaying of the preview screen of the camera within the screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed comprises arranging and displaying the preview screen in front or rear of a message window showing the message transmission/reception history, according to user control.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

displaying a recently stored at least one image around the displayed preview screen;

detecting a gesture for the at least one image displayed around the preview screen; and

transmitting the gestured-detected image to the at least one other electronic device.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising, if the detected touch is a multi touch, adjusting a size of the preview screen on the basis of at least one of a progress length of the detected multi touch and a progress location thereof,

wherein the adjusting of the size of the preview screen on the basis of the at least one of the progress length of the detected multi touch and the progress location thereof comprises, if the progress length of the detected multi touch is a preset threshold distance or more in the direction of furthering distance from each other, zooming in and adjusting the size of the preview screen by as much as a size of a screen region in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising, if the detected touch is a multi touch dragged in the same direction for the preview screen, moving and displaying the preview screen according to a location in which the detected multi touch is dragged.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the gesture comprises at least one of a double tap, a drag, and a tap of a predetermined period of time.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising splitting the screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed, into a plurality of regions, and

further comprising:

if the detected gesture is a drag, determining a drag start region and a drag end region among the plurality of split regions; and

performing at least one of an operation of transmitting a captured image to the at least one other electronic device and an operation of storing the captured image in the electronic device according to the drag start region and the drag end region.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

after displaying the preview screen, sensing a video capturing mode conversion event; and

converting a capturing mode into a video capturing mode,

wherein the capturing of the image of the subject comprises capturing a video of the subject during a time when the preview screen is touched.

11. An electronic device comprising:

one or more processors configured to execute one or more programs;

a touch sensing display configured to detect the presence and location of a touch; and

a memory configured to store data and instructions,

wherein the one or more programs are stored in the memory and comprise instructions to display a message transmission/reception history with at least one other electronic device, to sense a selection of a camera execution menu, to display a preview screen of a camera within a screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed, to detect a touch on the displayed preview screen, if the preview screen is touched, to capture an image of a subject, to detect a gesture for the captured image, and, if the gesture for the captured image is detected, to transmit the captured image to the at least one other electronic device according to the detected gesture.

12. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the one or more programs comprise an instruction to display the preview screen of the camera in any region of the screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed.

13. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the one or more programs comprise an instruction to display the preview screen of the camera within a talk balloon comprising a transmission message.

14. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the one or more programs comprise an instruction to arrange and display the preview screen in front or rear of a message window showing the message transmission/reception history, according to user control.

The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the one or more programs further comprise an instruction to display a recently stored at least one image around the displayed preview screen, to detect a gesture for the at least one image displayed around the preview screen, and to transmit the gestured-detected image to the at least one other electronic device.

The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the one or more programs further comprise an instruction to, if the detected touch is a multi touch, adjust a size of the preview screen on the basis of at least one of a progress length of the detected multi touch and a progress location thereof, and to, if the progress length of the detected multi touch is a preset threshold distance or more in the direction of furthering distance from each other, zoom in and adjust the size of the preview screen by as much as a size of a screen region in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed.

The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the one or more programs further comprise an instruction to, if the detected touch is a multi touch dragged in the same direction for the preview screen, move and display the preview screen according to a location in which the detected multi touch is dragged.

18. The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the gesture comprises at least one of a double tap, a drag, and a tap of a predetermined period of time.

The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the one or more programs further comprise an instruction to split the screen in which the message transmission/reception history is displayed, into a plurality of regions, to, if the detected gesture is a drag, determine a drag start region and a drag end region among the plurality of split regions, and to perform at least one of an operation of transmitting a captured image to the at least one other electronic device and an operation of storing the captured image in the electronic device according to the drag start region and the drag end region.

The electronic device of claim 11, wherein the one or more programs further comprise an instruction to, after displaying the preview screen, sense a video capturing mode conversion event, to convert a capturing mode into a video capturing mode, and to capture a video of the subject during a time when the preview screen is touched.
