Abstract

A system for performing interactive services at a mobile device is disclosed. In some cases, the system receives an indication of an event, and provides interactive services to a user of the mobile device based on the event. In some cases, an indication of an event in invokes a script-based process that determines one or more actions to present to a user of the mobile device.

Claims

1. A method for providing an interactive service to a user of a mobile telecommunications device, the method comprising:

detecting an occurrence of an event at the mobile telecommunications device,

wherein the event is not a call placed by or to the mobile telecommunications device;

in response to detecting the occurrence of the event, determining that the event is related to one or more scripts stored in the mobile telecommunications device;

initiating the one or more determined scripts to run on the mobile telecommunications device; and

using the initiated one or more determined scripts to launch a user interactive service,

wherein the user interactive service comprises one or more of;

a customer survey, a customer care application, a diagnostic tool, a special offer or information from a vendor, an advertisement, an event announcement, or a sound for a particular company.

2. The method of claim 1,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a certain date and time at the mobile telecommunications device.

3. The method of claim 1,

wherein the user interactive service comprises the special offer and the advertisement.

4. The method of claim 1,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a calendar item.

5. The method of claim 1,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a location of the mobile telecommunications device or a proximity of the mobile telecommunications device to a particular object.

6. The method of claim 1,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting an available wireless connection associated with a business.

7. The method of claim 1,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a situation where a wireless functionality is more likely to be needed;

wherein the user interactive service comprises the wireless functionality; and

wherein the initiated one or more scripts are configured to enable the wireless functionality.

8. The method of claim 1,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a situation where a wireless functionality is more likely to be needed;

wherein the user interactive service comprises the wireless functionality;

wherein the initiated one or more scripts are configured to enable the wireless functionality; and

wherein the method further comprises detecting an occurrence of a second event at the mobile telecommunications device comprising detecting a second situation where the wireless functionality is less likely to be needed;

in response to detecting the occurrence of the second event, determining that the event is related to one or more second scripts;

initiating the one or more determined second scripts to run on the mobile telecommunications device; and

using the initiated one or more determined second scripts to disable the wireless functionality.

9. A computer-readable storage medium storing instructions configured to, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations for providing an interactive service to a user of a mobile telecommunications device, the operations comprising:

detecting an occurrence of an event at the mobile telecommunications device,

wherein the event is not a call placed by or to the mobile telecommunications device;

in response to detecting the occurrence of the event, determining that the event is related to one or more scripts stored in the mobile telecommunications device;

initiating the one or more determined scripts to run on the mobile telecommunications device; and

using the initiated one or more determined scripts to launch a user interactive service,

wherein the user interactive service comprises one or more of;

a customer survey, a customer care application, a diagnostic tool, a special offer or information from a vendor, an advertisement, an event announcement, or a sound for a particular company.

10. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 9,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a certain date and time at the mobile telecommunications device.

11. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 9,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a certain date and time at a network communicating with the mobile telecommunications device.

12. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 9,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a location of the mobile telecommunications device or a proximity of the mobile telecommunications device to a particular object.

13. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 9,

wherein the user interactive service further comprises a webpage.

14. A system for providing an interactive service to a user of a mobile telecommunications device, the system comprising:

a memory;

a processor configured to;

detect an occurrence of an event at the mobile telecommunications device,

wherein the event is not related to a call placed by or to the mobile telecommunications device; and

in response to detecting the occurrence of the event, determine that the event is related to one or more scripts; and

a local data store comprising the determined one or more scripts,

wherein the determined one or more scripts are configured to run on the mobile telecommunications device in response to the processor determining the one or more scripts are related to the detected event; and

wherein running the determined one or more scripts results in the presentation of an interactive service on the mobile telecommunications device, the interactive service comprising one or more of;

a special offer or information from a vendor, an advertisement, an event announcement, or a sound for a particular company.

15. The system of claim 14,

wherein running the one or more scripts comprises launching a browser on the mobile telecommunications device.

16. The system of claim 14,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a location of the mobile telecommunications device or a proximity of the mobile telecommunications device to a particular object based at least in part on one or more of an available RFIT signal, Bluetooth signal, and WIFI signal associated with the detected location or object.

17. The system of claim 14,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a calendar item.

18. The system of claim 14,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting an available wireless connection associated with a business.

19. The system of claim 14,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a situation where a wireless functionality is more likely to be needed;

wherein the user interactive service comprises the wireless functionality; and

wherein the initiated one or more scripts are configured to enable the wireless functionality.

20. The system of claim 14,

wherein detecting an occurrence of an event comprises detecting a situation where a wireless functionality is more likely to be needed;

wherein the user interactive service comprises the wireless functionality;

wherein the initiated one or more scripts are configured to enable the wireless functionality; and

wherein the processor is further configured to;

detect an occurrence of a second event at the mobile telecommunications device, the second event comprising a second situation where the wireless functionality is less likely to be needed; and

in response to detecting the occurrence of the second event, determining that the second event is related to one or more second scripts, wherein the one or more second scripts are configured to, when run, disable the wireless functionality.
