Abstract

Systems and methods are disclosed for manipulating electronic multimedia content to a user. One method includes generating a plurality of biometric models, each biometric mod& corresponding to one of a plurality of people; receiving electronic media content over a network; extracting image or audio data from the electronic media content; detecting biometric information in the image or audio data; and calculating a probability of the electronic media content involving one of the plurality of people, based on the biometric information and the plurality of biometric models.

19. A computer-implemented method for displaying electronic multimedia content to a user, the method comprising:

storing, in a database, a plurality of biometric models, each biometric model corresponding to one of a plurality of people;

receiving electronic media content over a network;

extracting image and audio data from the electronic media content;

detecting, by one or more processors, biometric information associated with the image and audio data;

identifying, by the one or more processors, a probability that a person in the electronic media content matches one of the plurality of people corresponding to the plurality of biometric models stored in the database, based on the detected biometric information and the plurality of biometric models; and

presenting the electronic media content to the user based on the identified probability.

20. The computer-implemented method of claim 19, further comprising:

applying the identified probability to at least one of a ranking or filtration of the electronic media content; and

displaying the electronic media content to users based on the ranking or filtration.

21. The computer-implemented method of claim 19, further comprising:

generating the plurality of biometric models based on at least one of facial recognition or speech recognition techniques.

22. The computer-implemented method of claim 19, further comprising:

receiving the plurality of biometric models from an external source.

23. The computer-implemented method of claim 19, further comprising:

receiving an input from a user indicating interest in a selected one of the plurality of people; and

notifying the user if the electronic media content matches the selected one of the plurality of people.

24. The computer-implemented method of claim 23, wherein notifying the user is performed by at least one of emailing, text messaging, or electronic messaging the user with a link to the electronic media content.

25. A computer-implemented method for displaying electronic multimedia content to a user, the method comprising:

storing, in a database, a plurality of biometric models, each biometric model corresponding to one of a plurality of people;

receiving electronic media content over a network;

extracting image and audio data from the electronic media content;

detecting, by one or more processors, biometric information associated with the image and audio data;

identifying, by the one or more processors, a probability that a person in the electronic media content matches one of the plurality of people corresponding to the plurality of biometric models stored in the database, based on the detected biometric information and the plurality of biometric models;

receiving a search query including a person-specific modifier;

applying the identified probability to at least one of a ranking or filtration of electronic media content; and

displaying electronic media content to the user based on the person-specific modifier.

26. The computer-implemented method of claim 25, further comprising:

generating the plurality of biometric models based on at least one of facial recognition or speech recognition techniques.

27. The computer-implemented method of claim 25, further comprising:

receiving an input from a user indicating interest in a selected one of the plurality of people; and

notifying the user if the electronic media content is determined to involve the selected one of the plurality of people.

28. The computer-implemented method of claim 25, wherein notifying the user is performed by at least one of emailing, text messaging, or electronic messaging the user with a link to the electronic media content.

29. A system for displaying electronic multimedia content to a user, the system comprising:

a database that stores instructions for displaying electronic multimedia content, and storing a plurality of biometric models, each biometric model corresponding to one of a plurality of people; and

a processor configured to execute the instructions for;

receiving electronic media content over a network;

extracting image and audio data from the electronic media content;

detecting biometric information associated with the image and audio data;

identifying a probability that a person in the electronic media content matches one of the plurality of people corresponding to the plurality of biometric models stored in the database, based on the detected biometric information and the plurality of biometric models; and

presenting the electronic media content to the user based on the identified probability.

30. The system of claim 29, wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions for:

applying the identified probability to at least one of a ranking or filtration of electronic media content; and

displaying the electronic media content to users based on the ranking or filtration.

31. The system of claim 29, wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions for:

generating the plurality of biometric models based on at least one of facial recognition or speech recognition techniques; and

storing the plurality of biometric models in the database.

32. The system of claim 29, wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions for:

receiving the plurality of biometric models from an external source; and

storing the plurality of biometric models in the database.

33. The system of claim 29, wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions for:

receiving an input from a user indicating interest in a selected one of the plurality of people; and

notifying the user if the electronic media content matches the selected one of the plurality of people.

34. The system of claim 33, wherein notifying the user is performed by at least one of emailing, text messaging, or electronic messaging the user with a link to the electronic media content.

35. A system for displaying electronic multimedia content a user, the system comprising:

a database storing instructions for displaying electronic multimedia content, and storing a plurality of biometric models, each biometric model corresponding to one of a plurality of people; and

a processor configured to execute the instructions for;

receiving electronic media content over a network;

extracting image and audio data from the electronic media content;

detecting, by one or more processors, biometric information associated with the image and audio data;

identifying, by the one or more processors, a probability that a person in the electronic media content matches one of the plurality of people corresponding to the plurality of biometric models stored in the database, based on the detected biometric information and the plurality of biometric models;

receiving a search query including a person-specific modifier;

applying the identified probability to at least one of a ranking or filtration of electronic media content; and

displaying electronic media content to the user based on the person-specific modifier.

36. The system of claim 35, wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions for:

generating the plurality of biometric models based on at least one of facial recognition or speech recognition techniques; and

storing the plurality of biometric models in the database.

37. The system of claim 35_;

wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions for;

receiving an input from a user indicating interest in a selected one of the plurality of people; and

notifying the user if the electronic media content is determined to involve the selected one of the plurality of people.

38. The system of claim 35, wherein notifying the user is performed by at least one of emailing, text messaging, or electronic messaging the user with a link to the electronic media content.
