1. A method for obtaining metals, noble metals and rare earth metals from scrap, characterized in that in a countercurrent gasifier having a moving bulk-material bed, which has a reduction zone and an oxidation zone, the scrap and carbon-containing materials are oxidized with oxygen-containing gases in the presence of alkaline substances under overall reductive conditions at a total lambda of less than 1;

  • the resultant synthesis gas is drawn off at the top part of the countercurrent gasifier, and the metals, noble metals and rare earth metals are at least partially bound as oxides and/or in elemental form to the alkaline substances, whereupon they are obtained from the process as an enriched mixture by physical separation methods.
