Abstract

A non-contact power receiving apparatus includes a power reception unit for receiving electric power in a non-contact manner from a power transmitting apparatus external to a vehicle, and a control device for controlling the transmitted power from the power transmitting apparatus. The control device controls the transmitted power based on a monitoring result obtained by monitoring the surroundings of the vehicle, and an occupant detection result obtained by detecting whether or not an occupant enters the vehicle. When the monitoring result indicates the approach of a moving object to the vehicle, the control device causes the power transmitting apparatus to reduce the transmitted power. The power transmitting apparatus and the power reception unit transmit and receive electric power in a non-contact manner by electromagnetic field resonance.

Claims

1. A non-contact power receiving apparatus comprising:

a power reception unit for receiving electric power in a non-contact manner from a power transmitting apparatus external to a vehicle;

a control device for controlling the transmitted power from said power transmitting apparatus, said control device controlling said transmitted power based on a monitoring result obtained by monitoring the surroundings of said vehicle, and an occupant detection result obtained by detecting whether or not an occupant enters said vehicle;

a monitoring unit for monitoring a monitored region around said vehicle and outputting said monitoring result to said control device; and

a vehicle entry detection unit for detecting whether or not said occupant enters said vehicle, wherein

after the approach of a moving object to said vehicle is detected based on an output from said monitoring unit, when it is detected that said moving object has moved to a non-monitored region, said control device detects whether or not said occupant enters said vehicle with said vehicle entry detection unit.

2. The non-contact power receiving apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

when said monitoring result indicates the approach of said moving object to said vehicle, said control device causes said power transmitting apparatus to reduce said transmitted power.

4. The non-contact power receiving apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

after the approach of said moving object to said vehicle is detected, when it is detected that said moving object has moved to said non-monitored region, said control device causes said power transmitting apparatus to continue power transmission if it is detected that said occupant has entered said vehicle, and causes said power transmitting apparatus to stop power transmission if it is not detected that said occupant has entered said vehicle.

5. The non-contact power receiving apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

said monitoring unit is a camera for acquiring an image of said monitored region, a thermo camera for acquiring a temperature of said monitored region, or a monitoring device for detecting the presence or absence of said moving object in said monitored region by one of ultrasound, electric wave, light, and a variation in weight, and

said vehicle entry detection unit detects at least one of opening/closing of a door of said vehicle and a variation in weight of said vehicle.

6. The non-contact power receiving apparatus according to claim 1, wherein

said power transmitting apparatus and said power reception unit transmit and receive electric power in a non-contact manner by electromagnetic field resonance.

7. A non-contact power transmitting apparatus comprising:

a power transmitting apparatus for transmitting electric power in a non-contact manner to a power reception unit of a vehicle;

a control device for controlling the transmitted power from said power transmitting apparatus, said control device controlling said transmitted power based on a monitoring result obtained by monitoring the surroundings of said vehicle, and an occupant detection result obtained by detecting whether or not an occupant enters said vehicle; and

a monitoring unit for monitoring a monitored region around said vehicle and outputting said monitoring result to said control device, wherein

after the approach of a moving object to said vehicle is detected based on an output from said monitoring unit, when it is detected that said moving object has moved to a non-monitored region, said control device detects whether or not said occupant enters said vehicle with said monitoring unit.

8. The non-contact power transmitting apparatus according to claim 7, wherein

when said monitoring result indicates the approach of said moving object to said vehicle, said control device causes said power transmitting apparatus to reduce said transmitted power.

10. The non-contact power transmitting apparatus according to claim 7, wherein

after the approach of said moving object to said vehicle is detected, when it is detected that said moving object has moved to said non-monitored region, said control device causes said power transmitting apparatus to continue power transmission if it is detected that said occupant has entered said vehicle, and causes said power transmitting apparatus to stop power transmission if it is not detected that said occupant has entered said vehicle.

11. The non-contact power transmitting apparatus according to claim 7, wherein

said monitoring unit is a camera for acquiring an image of said monitored region, a thermo camera for acquiring a temperature of said monitored region, or a monitoring device for detecting the presence or absence of said moving object in said monitored region by one of ultrasound, electric wave, light, and a variation in weight.

12. The non-contact power transmitting apparatus according to claim 7, wherein

said power transmitting apparatus and said power reception unit transmit and receive electric power in a non-contact manner by electromagnetic field resonance.

13. A non-contact power transmitting and receiving system comprising:

a power transmitting apparatus external to a vehicle;

a power reception unit mounted on said vehicle for receiving electric power in a non-contact manner from said power transmitting apparatus;

a control device for controlling transmitted power from said power transmitting apparatus, said control device controlling said transmitted power based on a monitoring result obtained by monitoring the surroundings of said vehicle, and an occupant detection result obtained by detecting whether or not an occupant enters said vehicle;

a monitoring unit for monitoring a monitored region around said vehicle and outputting said monitoring result to said control device; and

a vehicle entry detection unit for detecting whether or not said occupant enters said vehicle, wherein

after the approach of a moving object to said vehicle is detected based on an output from said monitoring unit, when it is detected that said moving object has moved to a non-monitored region, said control device detects whether or not said occupant enters said vehicle with said vehicle detection unit.

14. The non-contact power transmitting and receiving system according to claim 13, wherein

when said monitoring result indicates the approach of said moving object to said vehicle, said control device causes said power transmitting apparatus to reduce said transmitted power.

15. The non-contact power transmitting and receiving system according to claim 13, wherein

said power transmitting apparatus and said power reception unit transmit and receive electric power in a non-contact manner by electromagnetic field resonance.
