Abstract

A UniDirectional (UD) preimpregnated material (prepreg) and method of production are provided. A plurality of reinforced fibers are arranged in one direction. At least one auxiliary fiber is arranged such that it crosses the plurality of reinforced fibers to maintain the arrangement of the plurality of reinforced fibers. The plurality of reinforced fibers and the at least one auxiliary fiber are impregnated with a coupling material, and the coupling material is cured with the plurality of reinforced fibers and the at least one auxiliary fiber.

Claims

1. A method for processing a UniDirectional (UD) preimpregnated material (prepreg), the method comprising the steps of:

arranging a plurality of reinforced fibers in one direction;

arranging at least one auxiliary fiber such that it crosses the plurality of reinforced fibers to maintain the arrangement of the plurality of reinforced fibers; and

impregnating the plurality of reinforced fibers and the at least one auxiliary fiber with a coupling material, and curing the coupling material with the plurality of reinforced fibers and the at least one auxiliary fiber.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber is weaved into or bonded on the plurality of reinforced fibers.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber is disposed at a right angle to the plurality of reinforced fibers.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber comprises a plurality of auxiliary fibers disposed at an interval between approximately 10 mm and approximately 200 mm.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

performing a post-process after curing the coupling material with the plurality of reinforced fibers and the at least one auxiliary fiber.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the post-process comprises at least one of a dyeing process, a deposition process, and a coating process.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of reinforced fibers comprises one of carbon fibers, glass fibers, and aramid fibers.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the coupling material comprises one of an epoxy resin, a polyester resin, and a thermoplastic resin.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber comprises at least one of a carbon fiber, a Kevlar fiber, and a basalt fiber.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber comprises a plurality of auxiliary fibers disposed at equal intervals.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber comprises a plurality of parallel auxiliary fibers.

12. A UniDirectional (UD) preimpregnated material (prepreg) comprising:

a plurality of reinforced fibers arranged in one direction;

at least one auxiliary fiber that crosses the plurality of reinforced fibers to maintain an arrangement of the plurality of reinforced fibers; and

a coupling material that impregnating and cured with the plurality of reinforced fibers and the at least one auxiliary fiber.

13. The UD prepreg of claim 12, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber is weaved into or bonded on the plurality of reinforced fibers.

14. The UD prepreg of claim 12, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber is disposed at a right angle to the plurality of reinforced fibers.

15. The UD prepreg of claim 12, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber comprises a plurality of auxiliary fibers disposed at an interval between approximately 10 mm and approximately 200 mm.

16. The UD prepreg of claim 12, wherein the plurality of reinforced fibers comprises one of carbon fibers, glass fibers, and aramid fibers.

17. The UD prepreg of claim 12, wherein the coupling material comprises one of an epoxy resin, a polyester resin, and a thermoplastic resin.

18. The UD prepreg of claim 12, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber comprises at least one of a carbon fiber, a Kevlar fiber, and a basalt fiber.

19. The UD prepreg of claim 12, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber comprises a plurality of auxiliary fibers disposed at equal intervals.

20. The UD prepreg of claim 12, wherein the at least one auxiliary fiber comprises a plurality of parallel auxiliary fibers.

21. An electronic device comprising:

a plurality of electronic components; and

at least one housing that provides a space for receiving the electronic components and that formed from a UniDirectional (UD) preimpregnated material (prepreg) having a plurality of reinforced fibers arranged in one direction, at least one auxiliary fiber that crosses the plurality of reinforced fibers to maintain an arrangement of the plurality of reinforced fibers, and a coupling material that impregnating and cured with the plurality of reinforced fibers and the at least one auxiliary fiber.
