Abstract

A set of applications on a mobile device can be specified, presented and automatically populated with transitional data sets. The transitional data sets can be stored on a network to facilitate computations of differences between transitional data sets and other data sets, and the differences can be presented on the mobile device by one or more location-aware applications.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

obtaining input specifying an application capable of receiving transitional data;

presenting the application on a mobile device; and

automatically populating the application with the transitional data.

2. The method of claim 1, where presenting further comprises:

displaying information through the application based on differences between the transitional data and other data.

3. The method of claim 1, where the other data includes persistent data.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the applications are location-aware and the transitional data is associated with a current location of the mobile device.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the input is touch input obtained through a touch sensitive display.

6. The method of claim 1, where a display object corresponding to the application is presented on a user interface of the mobile device as part of a set of other display objects corresponding to other applications capable of receiving the transitional data.

7. The method of claim 6, where the display object corresponding to the application includes an element for marking or registering the application as capable of receiving the transitional data.

8. The method of claim 6, where the user interface includes thematic elements related to the transitional data.

9. A system comprising:

at least one processor;

at least one of memory or a computer-readable medium coupled to the processor and operable to store instructions, which, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to perform operations comprising;

obtaining input specifying an application capable of receiving transitional data;

presenting the application on a mobile device; and

automatically populating the application with the transitional data.

10. The system of claim 9, where presenting further comprises:

displaying information through the application based on differences between the transitional data and other data.

11. The system of claim 9, where the other data includes persistent data.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the applications are location-aware and the transitional data is associated with a current location of the mobile device.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein the input is touch input obtained through a touch sensitive display.

14. The system of claim 9, where a display object corresponding to the application is presented on a user interface of the mobile device as part of a set of other display objects corresponding to other applications capable of receiving the transitional data.

15. The system of claim 14, where the display object corresponding to the application includes an element for marking or registering the application as capable of receiving the transitional data.

16. The system of claim 14, where the user interface includes thematic elements related to the transitional data.

17. A computer-readable medium storing instructions, which, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to perform operations comprising:

obtaining input specifying an application capable of receiving transitional data;

presenting the application on a mobile device; and

automatically populating the application with the transitional data.

18. The computer-readable medium of claim 17, where presenting further comprises:

displaying information through the application based on differences between the transitional data and other data.

19. The computer-readable medium of claim 17, wherein the application is location-aware and the transitional data is associated with a current location of the mobile device.

20. A mobile device comprising:

a touch sensitive display operable to obtain input specifying an application capable of receiving transitional data and for presenting the application; and

a processor coupled to the touch sensitive display and operable for automatically populating the application with the transitional data.
