Abstract

The invention relates to a wheel provided with electric driving means in the wheel, the electric driving means comprising a rotor and a stator coaxially within the rotor and connectable to a vehicle, with an air gap provided between said rotor and said stator, wherein said wheel is provided with an air gap controlling bearing.

Claims

1. A wheel provided with electric driving means in the wheel, said driving means comprising a rotor and a stator, and said wheel comprising means for liquid cooling of the driving means.

2. The wheel of claim 1 containing operating and control electronics and a cooling body for cooling the electronics and for sealing off the liquid cooling from the electronics.

3. The wheel of claim 1 further comprising a cover plate for sealing off operating and control electronics present in the wheel from the outside world.

4. The wheel of claim 1 comprising a carrying member having recesses arranged therein, said recesses, upon mounting of the wheel, forming transporting channels for the cooling liquid.

5. The wheel of claim 4 further comprising a clamping member closing off the recesses to form conduits for the cooling liquid.

6. The wheel of claim 1 comprising an inlet and an outlet for the cooling liquid.

7. The wheel of claim 1 wherein the cooling liquid is water.

8. The wheel of claim 1 wherein the stator is placed coaxially within the rotor.

9. The wheel of claim 8 wherein the stator by means of +a cover plate is connectable to a vehicle.

10. The wheel of claim 1 wherein an air gap is provided between the rotor and the stator.

11. The wheel of claim 10 wherein the air gap is less than 2 mm.

12. The wheel of claim 1 comprising control, measuring and operating means in the wheel.

13. The wheel of claim 12 comprising data communications means in the wheel.

14. The wheel of claim 12 wherein the measuring means comprises at least one Hall sensor.
