Abstract

A vehicle sun visor is provided that includes a visor body having a first side and a second side, and a vanity and lighting assembly located on the visor body. The assembly includes a lighting device located on the visor body. The lighting device is configured to provide a vanity light for a vanity mirror and is further configured to provide a dome light.

Claims

1. A vehicle visor comprising:

a visor body having first and second sides and a peripheral edge;

a vanity mirror assembly located on the first side of the visor body; and

a lighting device assembly located on the visor body and configured to provide a vanity light on the first side and further configured to provide a dome light on the peripheral edge.

2. The visor as defined in claim 1, wherein the lighting device assembly comprises a light device directing light towards the first side and towards the peripheral edge.

3. The visor as defined in claim 2, wherein the light device assembly further comprises a first lens and a second lens, wherein the light device directs light towards the first lens facing the first side and towards the second lens facing the peripheral edge.

4. The visor as defined in claim 2, wherein the lighting device comprises at least one light emitting diode.

5. The visor as defined in claim 2, wherein the lighting device comprises first and second lights for providing first and second vanity lights and further configured to provide first and second dome lights.

6. The visor as defined in claim 1, wherein the first side is opposite the second side and the peripheral edge connects the first side to the second side.

7. A vehicle visor comprising:

a visor body having first and second sides and a peripheral edge extending between the first and second sides;

a vanity mirror assembly located on the first side of the visor body; and

a lighting device assembly comprising a light source located on the visor body and configured to provide a vanity light for the vanity mirror on the first side and a dome light provided on the peripheral edge, wherein the light source directs light towards the first side for the vanity light and towards the peripheral edge for the dome light.

8. The visor as defined in claim 7, wherein the light source comprises at least one light emitting diode.

9. The visor as defined in claim 7 further comprising a lens oriented to pass light from the light source to the peripheral edge.

10. The visor as defined in claim 7, wherein the light device assembly further comprises a first lens and a second lens, wherein the light source directs light towards the first lens facing the first side and towards the second lens facing the peripheral edge.

11. A vehicle visor comprising:

a visor body having first and second sides and a peripheral edge; and

a lighting device assembly comprising a light source located on the visor body and configured to provide a first light on the first side and a second light on the peripheral edge.

12. The visor as defined in claim 11, wherein the first side is opposite the second side and the peripheral edge extends between the first and second sides.

13. The visor as defined in claim 11 further comprising a first lens oriented to pass light from the light source to the first side.

14. The visor as defined in claim 11 further comprising a second lens oriented to pass light from the light source to the peripheral edge.

15. The visor as defined in claim 11, wherein the light source comprises at least one light emitting diode.
