Abstract

A wagering game system and its operations are described herein. In some embodiments, the operations can include detecting initiation of a wagering game and determining, in response to the detecting the initiation of the wagering game, first content and second content to present for the wagering game. The operations can further include providing the first content for presentation on a display device, the first content being viewable through the gaming eyewear, and providing the second content for presentation as a virtual image via the gaming eyewear.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

detecting initiation of a wagering game;

determining, in response to the detecting the initiation of the wagering game, first content and second content to present for the wagering game;

providing, via one or more processors, the first content for presentation on a display device, the first content being viewable through the gaming eyewear;

providing, via at least one of the one or more processors, the second content for presentation as a virtual image via the gaming eyewear;

determining a relationship between the first content and the second content; and

providing instructions to present the second content via the gaming eyewear according to the relationship with the first content.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the determining the relationship between the first content and the second content comprises determining a relationship of one or more of content type, game rules, game mechanics, behaviors, physics, and spatiality.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the determining the relationship between the first content and the second content comprises

detecting a unique characteristic of the first content visible via the gaming eyewear;

and

providing the instructions for the second content for presentation to appear associated with the first content when presented via the gaming eyewear.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising determining the second content to present via the gaming eyewear based on the unique characteristic of the first content.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the first content includes a first set of symbols, wherein the second content includes a second set of symbols, and wherein a combination of the first set of symbols and the second set of symbols form a game outcome.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

detecting, via the gaming eyewear, one or more gestures made in relation to one or more of the first content and the second content; and

modifying presentation of one or more of the first content and the second content based on the detecting of the one or more gestures.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the gaming eyewear includes transparent material attached to the gaming eyewear, wherein the first content is visible through the transparent material.

8. One or more machine-readable storage media having instructions stored thereon, which when executed by a set of one or more processors causes the set of one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

detecting that first content of a wagering game is visible via gaming eyewear;

detecting a unique characteristic of the first content via the gaming eyewear;

selecting second content for the wagering game different from the first content, wherein the selecting of the second content is based on the unique characteristic of the first content; and

providing the second content for presentation as a virtual image via the gaming eyewear while the first content is visible via the gaming eyewear.

9. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 8, wherein the unique characteristic comprises one or more of a marking, a symbol, a glyph, a shape, a color, a texture, and a coded identifier of the first content.

10. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 8, wherein the operation for selecting the second content includes an operation for selecting the second content based on an appearance of the first content via the gaming eyewear.

11. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 8, said operations further comprising:

detecting, as the unique characteristic of the first content, a coded identifier;

detecting, from the coded identifier, instructions to present the second content via the gaming eyewear according to the relationship with the first content; and

providing the instructions to the gaming eyewear for presentation of the second content in relationship to the first content.

12. The one or more machine-readable storage media of claim 8, wherein the operation for determining that the second content is associated with the unique characteristic comprises:

querying a database with a description of the unique characteristic;

based on the querying of the database, determining that the description of the unique characteristic is related to a description of the second content stored in the database; and

in response to determining that the description of the unique characteristic is related to the description of the second content, selecting the second content from the description of the second content stored in the database.

13. A system comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory device configured to store instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to, detect a unique characteristic of an object visible via gaming eyewear,

determine wagering game content to present via the gaming eyewear based on the unique characteristic of the object, and

provide the wagering game content for presentation as a virtual image via the gaming eyewear, the virtual image to appear related to the object when presented via the gaming eyewear.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the gaming eyewear includes transparent material attached to the gaming eyewear configured to be worn over a player'"'"'s eyes, wherein the object is visible through the transparent material.

15. The system of claim 13, wherein the instructions cause presentation of the virtual image via the transparent material of the gaming eyewear at a location on the transparent material associated with a location of the object within a field of view of the gaming eyewear.

16. The system of claim 13, wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least processor, further cause the system to cause presentation of the virtual image to appear superimposed onto a surface of the object.

17. The system of claim 13, wherein the instructions to detect the unique characteristic of the object includes instructions configured to,

record an image of an environment that appears within a field of view of the gaming eyewear;

detect an appearance of the object within the field of view;

analyze the appearance of object; and

based on the analysis of the appearance of the object, detect the unique characteristic of the object.

18. The system of claim 13, wherein the instructions, when executed by at least one of the one or more processors, further cause the system to,

record an image of the object via a camera associated with the gaming eyewear;

detect an identifier on the object based on analysis of the image of the object;

determine an identity of the object based on analysis of the identifier; and

select the wagering game content in response to determination of the identity of the object.

19. The system of claim 13, wherein the instructions, when executed by at least one of the one or more processors, further cause the system to

determine, based on analysis of the unique characteristic, a spatial orientation parameter for presentation of the virtual image of the wagering game content relative to the object, and

provide the spatial orientation parameter to orient the presentation of the virtual image of the wagering game content, via the gaming eyewear, relative to a location of the object viewable via the gaming eyewear.

20. The system of claim 13, wherein the instructions, when executed by at least one of the one or more processors, further cause the system to

detect an identity of a wagering game player associated with a wagering game session for the wagering game content, and

provide, as the wagering game content, playing statistics associated with the wagering game player.

21. An apparatus comprising:

at least one processor; and

at least one memory device configured to store instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to

detect a characteristic of first content viewable via gaming eyewear,

determine second content based on the characteristic of the first content viewable via the gaming eyewear, and

present a virtual image of the second content via the gaming eyewear, wherein the virtual image of the second content is to be presented to appear related to the first content when viewed via the gaming eyewear.

22. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the gaming eyewear includes a transparent material configured to be worn over a player'"'"'s eyes, and wherein the first content is visible through the transparent material.

23. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, further causes the apparatus to project the virtual image of the wagering game content at a location on the transparent material that corresponds to a location of the first content within a field of view of the gaming eyewear.

24. An apparatus comprising:

means for presenting a virtual image of wagering game content via gaming eyewear;

means for detecting player activity viewable via the gaming eyewear;

means for determining that the player activity indicates an interaction with the virtual image of the wagering game content; and

means for performing a wagering game function based on the determining that the player activity indicates the interaction with the virtual image of the wagering game content.

25. The apparatus of claim 24, wherein the means for detecting the player activity viewable via the gaming eyewear comprises means for presenting a virtual image of an identifier via the gaming eyewear, wherein presentation of the virtual image of the identifier is associated with both the virtual image of the wagering game content and a portion of the player viewable via the gaming eyewear.

26. The apparatus of claim 25, wherein the means for determining that the player activity indicates an interaction with the virtual image of the wagering game content comprises means for detecting a physical interaction with the portion of the player viewable via the gaming eyewear.

27. The apparatus of claim 24, wherein the means for performing the wagering game function comprises means for conducting a wager for the wagering game content in response to the interaction with the virtual image of the wagering game content.

28. The apparatus of claim 24, wherein the player activity is a gesture viewable via the gaming eyewear, and wherein the means for determining that the player activity indicates an interaction with the virtual image of the wagering game content comprises:

means for identifying a player that performs the gesture;

means for accessing a player account associated with the player in response to identifying the player; and

means for accessing a setting of the player account that indicates that performance of the gesture indicates a request to perform the wagering game function.
