Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and a device that control signals for a plurality of terminals possessed by the same user. More particularly, a method of controlling signals for a plurality of terminals using a mobility management entity (MME) according to an embodiment of the present invention is characterized by including the steps of: setting terminals with the same subscriber codes and the same mobility as grouping terminals; and transmitting group signals on the grouping terminals to a base station. According to the present invention, the following advantages are realized: of enabling the prevention of waste in having to report mobility-related information on each terminal and being able to simultaneously transmit grouping or other signals to all terminals that are in a group in a network.

Claims

1. A method for a Mobility Management Entity (MME) to control signals concerning multiple terminals in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

sorting terminals having same subscriber code and same mobility into a group; and

transmitting a group signal of the group to a base station.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the sorting of the terminals into a group comprises:

receiving a connection request message transmitted by a terminal via the base station;

configuring, when the terminal transmitted the connection request message is the terminal connected to the MME first among the terminals having the same subscriber code, the terminal as a leader terminal; and

setting a Tracking Area Update (TAU) period and individual and group Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycles of the leader terminal.

The method of claim 2, further comprising, after the receiving of the connection request message, setting, when the corresponding terminal is not the terminal connected to the MME first among the terminals having the same subscriber code, the TAU period and group DRX of the terminal to same values of the leader terminal.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the transmitting of the group signal comprises:

generating a group paging information including a group ID and the group DRX cycle;

transmitting the group paging information to the base station.

5. A method for a base station to control signals concerning multiple terminals in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

forwarding an attach request message transmitted by a terminal to a Mobility Management Entity (MME);

receiving paging information addressed to a group of terminals from the MME; and

scheduling a paging message to the group based on the paging information.

The method of claim 5, further comprising, after forwarding the attach request message, transmitting, when the terminal is a leader terminal connected to the MME first among the terminals having the same subscriber code, an access accept message including Tracking Area Update (TAU) period and individual and group Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycles of the leader terminal.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the scheduling of the paging message comprises transmitting the paging information including special information addressed to the group other than individual terminals.

8. A Mobility Management Entity (MME) for controlling singles of multiple terminals in mobile communication system, the MME comprising:

a transceiver which transmits and receives signals to and from a base station; and

a control unit which controls sorting the terminals having same subscriber code and same mobility into a group and transmitting a group signal addressed to the group to a base station serving the group of terminals.

The MME of claim 8, wherein the transceiver receives a connection request message transmitted by one of the terminals via the base station, and the control unit configures, when the terminal transmitted the connection request message is the terminal connected to the MME first among the terminals having the same subscriber code, the terminal as a leader terminal and sets a Tracking Area Update (TAU) period and individual and group Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycles of the leader terminal.

10. The MME of claim 9, wherein the control unit sets, when the corresponding terminal is not the terminal connected to the MME first among the terminals having the same subscriber code, the TAU period and group DRX of the terminal to same values of the leader terminal.

11. The MME of claim 9, wherein the control unit controls generating a group paging information including a group ID and the group DRX cycle and transmitting the group paging information to the base station.

12. A base station for controlling signals concerning multiple terminals in a mobile communication system, the base station comprising:

a transceiver which transmits and receives signals to and from a terminal and a Mobility Management Entity (MME); and

a control unit which controls forwarding an attach request message transmitted by a terminal to the MME and scheduling a paging message to the group based on the paging information.

The base station of claim 12, wherein the control unit controls transmitting, when the terminal is a leader terminal connected to the MME first among the terminals having the same subscriber code, an access accept message including Tracking Area Update (TAU) period and individual and group Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycles of the leader terminal.

14. The base station of claim 13, wherein the control unit controls transmitting the paging information including special information addressed to the group other than individual terminals.
