A method for comparing compensation criteria between at least one of a plurality of candidates having a candidate profile and at least one of a plurality of employers having a job profile by a computer system within a computer network prior to any direct contact between the candidate and the employer, the computer system comprising at least one computer comprising at least one processor in communication with at least one storage medium, the searchable candidate profile including at least one candidate-specified compensation requirement, the searchable job profile including at least one employer-specified compensation requirement, the method comprising:
- receiving the at least one candidate-specified compensation requirement by the at least one computer system;
storing the at least one candidate-specified compensation requirement in a structured format on the at least one storage medium;
receiving the at least one employer-specified compensation requirement by the at least one computer system;
storing the at least one employer-specified compensation requirement in a structured format on the at least one storage medium;
receiving at least one search request from either the candidate or the employer by the computer system to search the searchable compensation requirement of one of the candidate profile and the job profile;
identifying at least one candidate profile or job profile by the computer system based on the at least one search request; and
comparing the at least one candidate-specified compensation requirement with the at least one employer-specified compensation requirement by the computer system, whereby a first threshold comparison results.
