Abstract

Aspects of the disclosure relate to curation of cloud services that can be included a cloud solution tailored to an organization or an environment thereof. In one aspect, the cloud services can include software applications, professional services, managed network services, and/or infrastructure services. In one aspect, curation of a cloud service can be based on fitness of the cloud service for the organization or the environment thereof. In another aspect, the curation of certain cloud services can be refined based on feedback associated with such services.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

accessing, by a system comprising at least one processor and at least one memory device, an organizational criterion for an environment of an organization;

accessing, by the system, a group of could services;

evaluating, by the system, fitness for the environment of at least one service of the group of cloud services based at least on the organizational criterion, thereby generating at least one fitness metric for the at least one cloud service; and

categorizing the at least one cloud service based at least in part on the at least one fitness metric.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the categorizing comprises generating an index of the least one cloud service, the index representing a ranking of the at least one cloud service in accordance with relevancy to the organization.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the evaluating comprises determining the alignment between an industry vertical associated with the organization and a cloud service of the at least one cloud service.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the evaluating comprises determining the effectiveness of a cloud service of the at least one cloud service against an organizational need represented by the organizational criterion.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising accessing feedback information associated with the at least one cloud service.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein accessing the feedback information comprises receiving information indicative of utilization of a cloud service of the at least one cloud service.

7. The method of claim 5, further comprising re-evaluating, by the system, the fitness for the organization of the at least one service based at least on the feedback information, wherein the organization is associated with an industry vertical and comprises a not-for-profit organization or a business organization, and

the industry vertical comprising at least one of agriculture;

education and childcare services;

insurance services;

Internet and online market services;

retail and consumer services;

utility services;

banking and financial services;

hospitality and travel services;

legal services;

law enforcement;

media and entertainment;

real estate and property services;

transportation and logistics services;

construction services;

energy and environment services;

healthcare and pharmaceutical services;

manufacturing and engineering services;

public-sector services;

gastronomy services;

or small businesses.

8. The method of claim 7, further comprising updating the at least one fitness metric for the at least one cloud service based at least on the re-evaluating.

24. The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 7, wherein the operations further comprise updating the at least one fitness metric for the at least one cloud service based at least on the re-evaluating.

9. A system, comprising:

at least one memory having at least computer-executable instructions stored thereon; and

at least one processor functionally coupled to the at least one memory and configured, by at least the computer-executable instructions,

to access an organizational criterion for an environment of an organization;

to access a group of could services;

to evaluate fitness for the environment of at least one service of the group of cloud services based at least on the organizational criterion, and to generate at least one fitness metric for the at least one cloud service; and

to categorize the at least one cloud service based at least in part on the at least one fitness metric.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to generate an index of the least one cloud service, the index representing a ranking of the at least one cloud service in accordance with relevancy to the organization.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to determine the alignment between an industry vertical associated with the organization and a cloud service of the at least one cloud service.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to determine the effectiveness of a cloud service of the at least one cloud service against an organizational need represented by the organizational criterion.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to access feedback information associated with the at least one cloud service.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein to access the feedback information, the at least one processor is further configured to receive information indicative of utilization of a cloud service of the at least one cloud service.

The system of claim 13, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to re-evaluate the fitness for the organization of the at least one service based at least on the feedback information, wherein the organization is associated with an industry vertical and comprises a not-for-profit organization or a business organization, and

the industry vertical comprising at least one of agriculture;

education and childcare services;

insurance services;

Internet and online market services;

retail and consumer services;

utility services;

banking and financial services;

hospitality and travel services;

legal services;

law enforcement;

media and entertainment;

real estate and property services;

transportation and logistics services;

construction services;

energy and environment services;

healthcare and pharmaceutical services;

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to update the at least one fitness metric for the at least one cloud service based at least on the re-evaluation of the fitness for the organization.

17. At least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium having stored thereon computer-accessible instructions that, in response to execution, cause at least one processor to perform action comprising:

accessing, by a system comprising at least one processor and at least one memory device, an organizational criterion for an environment of an organization;

accessing, by the system, a group of could services;

evaluating, by the system, fitness for the environment of at least one service of the group of cloud services based at least on the organizational criterion, thereby generating at least one fitness metric for the at least one cloud service; and

categorizing the at least one cloud service based at least in part on the at least one fitness metric.

18. The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 17, wherein the categorizing comprises generating an index of the least one cloud service, the index representing a ranking of the at least one cloud service in accordance with relevancy to the organization.

19. The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 17, wherein the evaluating comprises determining the alignment between an industry vertical associated with the organization and a cloud service of the at least one cloud service.

20. The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 17, wherein the evaluating comprises determining the effectiveness of a cloud service of the at least one cloud service against an organizational need represented by the organizational criterion.

21. The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 17, wherein the operations further comprise accessing feedback information associated with the at least one cloud service.

22. The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of claim 21, wherein accessing the feedback information comprises receiving information indicative of utilization of a cloud service of the at least one cloud service.

The at least one computer-readable non-transitory storage medium of method of claim 21, wherein the operations further comprise re-evaluating the fitness for the organization of the at least one service based at least on the feedback information, wherein the organization is associated with an industry vertical and comprises a not-for-profit organization or a business organization, and

the industry vertical comprising at least one of agriculture;

education and childcare services;

insurance services;

Internet and online market services;

retail and consumer services;

utility services;

banking and financial services;

hospitality and travel services;

legal services;

law enforcement;
