Abstract

Methods and systems are provided for adapting a speech system of a vehicle. In one example a method includes: logging data from the vehicle; logging speech data from the speech system; processing the data from the vehicle and the data from the speech system to determine a pattern of context and a relation to user interaction behavior; and selectively updating a user profile of the speech system based on the pattern of context.

Claims

1. A method of adapting a speech system of a vehicle, comprising:

logging data from the vehicle;

logging speech data from the speech system;

processing the data from the vehicle and the data from the speech system to determine a pattern of context and a relation to user interaction behavior; and

selectively updating a user profile of the speech system based on the pattern of context.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the selectively updating comprises selectively updating a task preference of the user profile based on the pattern of context.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the selectively updating comprises selectively updating a vocabulary preference of the user profile based on the pattern of context.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the selectively updating comprises selectively updating a prompt preference of the user profile based on the pattern of context.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the selectively updating comprises selectively updating an interaction sequence of the user profile based on the pattern of context.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the data from the vehicle comprises data associated with the vehicle.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein the context of the vehicle comprises data associated with a context of the vehicle.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein the speech data comprises at least one spoken command uttered by a user and a performance of the at least one spoken command.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein the processing the data from the vehicle and the speech data comprises processing the data from the vehicle and the data from the speech system by determining an increase in user behavior and by determining a pattern of context during the increase in user behavior.

10. The method of claim 9 wherein the user behavior is a frequency of at least one of performing a certain task type, using a certain vocabulary, using a certain language, making recurring errors, and preferring a certain information distribution in utterances.

11. The method of claim 9 wherein the selectively updating the user profile comprises selectively updating the user profile according to the user behavior for the pattern of context.

13. The system of claim 9 wherein the third module selectively updates at least one of a task preference, a vocabulary preference, a prompt preference, and an interaction sequence of the user profile based on the pattern of context.

14. The system of claim 9 wherein the data from the vehicle comprises data associated with the vehicle.

15. The system of claim 9 wherein the context of the vehicle comprises data associated with a context of the vehicle.

16. The system of claim 9 wherein the data from the speech system comprises at least one spoken command uttered by a user and a performance of the at least one spoken command.

17. The system of claim 9 wherein the second module processes the data from the vehicle and the data from the speech system by determining an increase in user behavior and by determining a pattern of context during the increase in user behavior.

18. The system of claim 17 wherein the user behavior is a frequency of at least one of performing a certain task type, using a certain vocabulary, using a certain language, making recurring errors, and preferring a certain information distribution in utterances.

19. The system of claim 9 wherein the third module selectively updates the user profile by selectively updating the user profile according to the user behavior for the pattern of context.

12. A system for adapting a speech system of a vehicle, comprising:

a first module that logs data from the vehicle, and that logs data from the speech system;

a second module that processes the data from the vehicle and the data from the speech system to determine a pattern of context and a relation to user interaction behavior; and

a third module that selectively updates a user profile of the speech system based on the pattern of context.

20. A vehicle, comprising:

at least one vehicle system; and

a speech system that processes data from the at least one vehicle system and data of the speech system to determine a pattern of context and a relation to user interaction behavior, and that selectively updates a user profile based on the pattern of context.
