WEARABLE PERFORMANCE MONITORING, ANALYSIS, AND FEEDBACK SYSTEMS AND METHODS
First Claim
1. A method for monitoring, analyzing and providing feedback on physical activity of a user, comprising:
- receiving a system schema for a plurality of muscles of a human subject, the system schema wirelessly received by a garment borne controller of a garment the includes a plurality of garment borne sensors coupled with the controller and configured to acquire signals indicative of muscle activation;
selecting which of the plurality of sensors to analyze;
calibrating selected sensors to account for a user profile of the human subject;
acquiring muscle activation data from outputs of selected sensors while the human subject performs an activity that exercises the plurality of muscles;
analyzing in real-time, the muscle activation data during performance of the activity;
providing in real time, feedback on the performance of the activity to the human subject, the feedback wirelessly received on a wireless device; and
altering in real-time, a behavior of the human subject, an apparatus used by the human subject to perform the activity or both, if the analysis indicates the performance is non-optimal, wherein behavior of the apparatus is altered wirelessly.

Abstract
The present application relates generally to computer software, mobile electronics, wireless communication links, and wearable monitoring systems. More specifically, techniques, systems, sensors, circuitry, algorithms and methods for wearable monitoring devices and associated exercise apparatus are described. A garment borne sensor system may acquire data on a user'"'"'s performance during exercise, for example. The data may be analyzed in real time and feedback may be provided to the user based on the analysis. Analysis may be used to alter behavior of the user and/or an apparatus the user is engaged with during an activity, such as exercise, conditioning, therapy, etc. A piece of exercise equipment may be instrumented and in communication with the sensor system or other system and may be controlled in real time to adjust its settings to affect the user during the exercise routine. Communication between the sensor system and other systems may be wireless.
