1. A boat shelf comprising:
- (a) a shelf assembly comprising top plate and a frame having a mounting plate and a pair of side plates, wherein (1) the mounting plate has a top and first and second sides, (ii) the side plates extend away from the first side of the mounting plate, (iii) the top plate extends across the top of the mounting plate, (iv) the top plate has a first section extending away from the first side of the mounting plate and coupled in supporting relation to the side plates, and (v) the top plate has a second section extending away from the second side of the mounting plate away from the first section of the top plate; and
(b) a bracket assembly adapted to secure the shelf assembly to a surface of a boat wherein first section of the top plate projects outwardly from the surface of the boat, the bracket assembly comprising a bracket having a first set of holes and a second set of holes, a first set of fasteners passing through the first set of holes and adapted to attach the bracket to a surface of a boat, and a second set of fasteners passing through the second set of holes and adapted to attach the bracket to shelf assembly.

1. A boat shelf comprising:

(a) a shelf assembly comprising top plate and a frame having a mounting plate and a pair of side plates, wherein (1) the mounting plate has a top and first and second sides, (ii) the side plates extend away from the first side of the mounting plate, (iii) the top plate extends across the top of the mounting plate, (iv) the top plate has a first section extending away from the first side of the mounting plate and coupled in supporting relation to the side plates, and (v) the top plate has a second section extending away from the second side of the mounting plate away from the first section of the top plate; and (b) a bracket assembly adapted to secure the shelf assembly to a surface of a boat wherein first section of the top plate projects outwardly from the surface of the boat, the bracket assembly comprising a bracket having a first set of holes and a second set of holes, a first set of fasteners passing through the first set of holes and adapted to attach the bracket to a surface of a boat, and a second set of fasteners passing through the second set of holes and adapted to attach the bracket to shelf assembly. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5)

(a) a support structure of a boat; (b) a shelf assembly comprising top plate and a frame having a mounting plate and a pair of side plates, wherein (i) the mounting plate has a top and first and second sides, (ii) the side plates extend away from the first side of the mounting plate, (iii) the top plate extends across the top of the mounting plate, (iv) the top plate has a first section extending away from the first side of the mounting plate and coupled in supporting relation to the side plates, and (v) the top plate has a second section extending away from the second side of the mounting plate away from the first section of the top plate; (c) a bracket assembly coupling the shelf assembly to the support structure of the boat, the bracket assembly comprising a bracket having a first set of openings and a second set of openings, a first set of fasteners cooperating with the first set of openings of the bracket to couple the bracket to the shelf assembly, and a second set of fasteners cooperating with the second set of openings in the bracket to couple the bracket to the support structure of the boat. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)

15. A boat shelf assembly comprising:

(a) a top plate; (b) a bracket assembly adapted to secure the top plate to a boat, the bracket assembly comprising first and second anus; (c) each arm having a first leg and a second leg extending the first leg at a right angle; (d) the first leg of each arm having a first set of holes; (e) the second leg of each arm having at least one elongate slot; (f) a first set of fasteners passing through the first set of holes of each arm and adapted to attach the arms to the boat; and (g) a second set of fasteners passing through elongate slot and adapted to couple the bracket assembly to the top plate such that the distance between the two arms is adjustable.
