Abstract
A system for publishing digital content is described which, in one embodiment, includes a beacon device associated with a first user configured to transmit identification information and information indicating its current position. A browsing device includes a display configured and adapted to display to a second user a representation of a local geographical area, and to selectively display to the second user content information associated with the first user, based at least in part on whether the location of the beacon device is within the local geographical area.

receiving, from a beacon device associated with a first user, position information indicating a current position of the beacon device; linking content information associated with the first user with the current position; and transmitting, to a browsing device associated with a second user based on one or more policies, a representation of a local geographical area of the browsing device and the content information, wherein the content information is configured to be selectively displayed based at least in part on whether the current position of the beacon device is within the logical geographical area, wherein the content information is configured to be overlaid on top of the representation of the local geographical area on the browsing device. - View Dependent Claims (52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62)
