Abstract

A communications device, such as mobile device, may be utilized to render information about another device. In an example embodiment, a first mobile device may detect a second device, and the first device may identify the second device. Based on the identification of the second device, the first device may retrieve information associated with the second device. The first device may render the retrieved information on a display of the first device.

Claims

1. A tangible computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:

detecting, by a first device, a second device;

identifying the second device;

retrieving information associated with the identification of the second device; and

rendering, via the first device, the retrieved information, wherein the retrieved information comprises interactive content that describes the second device.

2. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein detecting the second device comprises at least one of:

visually detecting the second device;

or

electromagnetically detecting the second device.

3. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein:

detecting the second device comprises;

visually detecting an identifier of the second device; and

matching an image of the identifier to a stored image, wherein the stored image comprises at least one of a model number or a make type of the second device.

4. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 3, wherein the identifier comprises at least one of a model number, a make type, or a logo associated with an identity of the second device.

5. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein identifying the second device further comprises:

receiving an indication of an identity of the second device, wherein the indication comprises an international mobile equipment identity.

6. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, the operations further comprising:

in response to a user interaction with the first device, calling a salesperson to a location of the first device.

7. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, the operations further comprising:

in response to a user interaction with the first device, placing an order to purchase the second device.

8. A method comprising:

receiving, by a server, a message;

based on the message, determining an identity associated with an originator of the message;

based on the identity, determining one or more parameters associated with the originator;

based on the one or more parameters, determining predetermined content that corresponds to the originator;

determining whether the originator of the message comprises the predetermined content; and

if the originator of the message does not comprise the predetermined content, deploying the predetermined content to the originator of the message.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the originator of the message comprise a mobile device that resides in a store.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the predetermined content comprises an updated version of an application, the application comprising an interactive demonstration of one or more features of the mobile device.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein the one or more parameters comprise at least one of a device model number, a device model type, a store location, a store identity, or a device identity.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein the predetermined content comprises a license to music or video, wherein the license comprises a start date and an end date.

13. The method of claim 8, wherein the method further comprises:

if the originator of the message comprises the predetermined content, waiting until content is updated; and

when the content is updated, deploying the updated content to the originator of the message.

14. A first device comprising:

memory comprising executable instructions; and

a processor in communications with the memory, the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising;

detecting a second device;

identifying the second device;

retrieving information associated with the identification of the second device; and

rendering the retrieved information on a display of the first device, wherein the retrieved information comprises interactive content that describes the second device.

15. The first device of claim 14, wherein detecting the second device comprises:

visually detecting the second device;

or

electromagnetically detecting the second device.

16. The first device of claim 14, wherein:

detecting the second device comprises;

visually detecting an identifier of the second device; and

matching an image of the identifier to a stored image;

wherein the stored image comprises at least one of a model number or a make type of the second device.

17. The first device of claim 16, wherein the identifier comprises at least one of a model number, a make type, or logo associated with an identity of the second device.

18. The first device claim 14, wherein sensing the second device further comprises:

receiving an indication of an identity of the second device, wherein the indication comprises an international mobile equipment identity.

19. The first device of claim 14, the operations further comprising:

in response to a user interaction with the first device, calling a salesperson to a location of the first device.

20. The first device of claim 14, the operations further comprising:

in response to a user interaction with the first device, placing an order to purchase the second device.
