1. A method of detecting data packets received by a receiver over a plurality of dynamically allocated resource units, the unit being a minimum unit for data allocation in a combination of time and frequency domains on a shared channel of a wireless communication system, the method comprising the steps of:

  • receiving at least part of the data packets and dedicated control information (DCI) destined for the receiver from a transmitter on a subset of selected resource unit candidates, which are selected by the transmitter, the DCI including modulation and coding information of the data packets; and

attempting to decode the selected resource unit candidates to successfully decode the DCI destined for the receiver and transmitted on said subset to detect the at least part of the data packets, wherein the step of receiving the at least part of the data packets and the DCI includes receiving the DCI that is mapped at a beginning first slot of said subset of the selected resource unit candidates and receiving the at least part of the data packets containing user data mapped at a second slot of said subset.
