Abstract

A networked system implements a method of delivering product to a user and including promotional products on a delivery entity for delivery to potential customers within a determined target area of the user delivery location. A server receives a purchase delivery request from a user at a user location. At least one promotional product is determined for inclusion on a delivery entity associated with the user delivery request. A target area is determined based on the user location. Notifications of the promotional product are sent to potential customers within the determined target area, allowing the potential customers to request the promotional product.

Claims

1. A method of delivering product to a user, the method comprising:

Receiving a purchase delivery request at a server from at least one user at a user location;

Determining at least one promotional product for inclusion on a delivery entity associated with the user delivery request;

Determining at a server a target area based on the user location;

Sending proximate delivery notifications of the promotional product to potential customers within the determined target area; and

Receiving at least one request for the promotional product at a server from at least one customer within the determined target area.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

adjusting a delivery schedule based on the received promotional product requests.

3. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

adjusting a delivery route based on the received promotional product requests.

4. The method of claim 3 further comprising:

determining an adjusted target area based on the adjusted delivery route and sending notifications of the promotional product to potential customers within the determined adjusted target area.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein sending notifications comprises:

sending notifications to the potential customers in the target area during a delivery to the user location.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the target area is based on a determined delivery route.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein determining at least one promotional product comprises:

determining product based on at least one product profile associated with the target area.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein sending notifications comprises broadcasting notifications.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein the promotional product comprises a service.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein the promotional product is priced at a discount.

11. The method of claim 10 wherein the discount is applied to the delivery cost.

12. The method of claim 1 wherein the delivery entity is selected based on at least one delivery authorization factor.

13. The method of claim 1 wherein the delivery entity is selected based on at least one delivery service capability.

14. The method of claim 1 wherein the promotional product is determined based upon the purchase history of one or more potential customers within the determined target area.

15. The method claim 1 further comprising:

providing the user a drop off time.

16. The method of claim 15 wherein the drop off time is padded to allow for promotional product sales and delivery.

17. A system for delivering product to a user, the system comprising at least one server having a processor, a computer readable storage medium, and instructions tangibly embodied in the computer readable storage medium for executing a method comprising:

Receiving a purchase delivery request from at least one user at a user location;

Determining at least one promotional product for inclusion on a delivery entity associated with the user delivery request;

Determining a target area based on the user location;

Sending proximate delivery notifications of the promotional product to potential customers within the determined target area; and

Receiving at least one request for the promotional product from at least one customer within the determined target area.

18. The system of claim 17, the instructions tangibly embodied in the computer readable storage medium for executing a method further comprising:

adjusting a delivery route based on the received promotional product requests.

19. The system of claim 18, the instructions tangibly embodied in the computer readable storage medium for executing a method further comprising:

determining an adjusted target area based on the adjusted delivery route and sending notifications of the promotional product to potential customers within the determined adjusted target area.

20. A computer readable storage medium comprising instructions that when executed perform a method comprising:

Receiving a purchase delivery request from at least one user at a user location;

Determining at least one promotional product for inclusion on a delivery entity associated with the user delivery request;

Determining a target area based on the user location;

Sending proximate delivery notifications of the promotional product to potential customers within the determined target area; and

Receiving at least one request for the promotional product from at least one customer within the determined target area.
