Abstract

A lamp for a vehicle is provided and includes a signal lamp that displays a predetermined image of repetition on an exterior minor of a vehicle. The lamp further includes a minor housing into which a mirror is installed and a signal lamp disposed on one surface of the minor housing. The signal lamp includes a reflection unit, a lens unit disposed at a predetermined distance apart from the reflection unit and having a half mirror installed on at least one surface thereof, and a first light source unit disposed between the reflection unit and the lens unit and is about the same distance apart from the reflection unit and the lens unit.

Claims

1. A lamp for a vehicle, comprising:

a minor housing into which a mirror is installed; and

a signal lamp disposed on one surface of the mirror housing,

wherein the signal lamp includes a reflection unit, a lens unit disposed a predetermined distance apart from the reflection unit and having a half minor installed on at least one surface of the lens unit, and a first light source unit disposed between the reflection unit and the lens unit and is about the same distance apart from the reflection unit and the lens unit.

2. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the signal lamp is disposed on least one of the front and the side of the minor housing.

3. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the reflection unit is disposed on one side of a lamp housing that houses the signal lamp.

4. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the reflection unit includes a metal coating layer formed on a surface of a lamp housing facing the lens unit.

5. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the signal lamp is configured to repeatedly form a plurality of images with a predetermined ratio of similarity with respect to the shape of the first light source unit via the half mirror.

6. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the reflection unit is configured to reflect light at a predetermined angle for the light to travel back toward the half mirror in response to light generated by the first light source unit being reflected from the half minor.

7. The lamp of claim 6, wherein an angle of incidence and an angle of exit of the light reflected by the reflection unit are the about same or different.

8. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the half mirror includes a metal coating layer formed on, or a film attached onto, at least one surface of the lens unit.

9. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the half mirror is formed on at least one of the inside and the exterior of the lens unit.

10. The lamp of claim 1, wherein surfaces of the reflection unit and the half minor that face each other are either substantially flat surfaces extending in parallel with each other or curved surfaces having about the same curvature.

11. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the first light source unit includes:

a light guide; and

one or more light sources disposed on at least one side of the light guide,

wherein the light guide facing the reflection unit and the half minor includes a pair of parallel sides that face the reflection unit and the half mirror.

12. The lamp of claim 11, wherein the light guide has a curved shape.

13. The lamp of claim 11, wherein the signal lamp further includes a support unit disposed between the reflection unit and the lens unit and having an opening of a predetermined size, wherein the light guide is disposed on a side of an outer circumferential end of the opening of the support unit.

14. The lamp of claim 13, wherein the first side of the outer circumferential end of the opening of the support unit is formed perpendicular to sides of the light guide respectively facing the reflection unit and the half minor.

15. The lamp of claim 13, wherein the support unit includes:

an insertion bore into which one end of the light guide is inserted;

a recess that engages with a protrusion formed on another end of the light guide; and

one or more fixing grooves into which one or more fixing protrusions formed on the light guide are respectively inserted.

16. The lamp of claim 11, wherein the light guide includes an optic formed within at least a part of the light guide.

17. The lamp of claim 1, wherein light generated by the first light source unit is reflected at a first location on the half mirror, the reflected light from the first location is reflected at a second location on the reflection unit, and the reflected light from the second location is incident upon a third location on the half mirror, which is different from the first location.

18. The lamp of claim 17, wherein an angle of incidence and an angle of exit of the light reflected by the half mirror are about the same or different.

19. The lamp of claim 17, wherein light transmitted through the half minor at the first location has a greater brightness than light transmitted through the half mirror at the third location.

20. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the signal lamp includes:

a second light source unit disposed on one side of the first light source unit,

wherein one of the first light source unit and the second light source unit is used as a turn signal lamp and one of the first light source unit and the second light source unit is used as a position lamp.
