Abstract

A wearable device assembly has a housing supporting a controller, display and indicator system thereon. The controller has at least one sensor wherein activity of a user wearing the device is detected. The controller selectively illuminates the indicator system to indicate a level of activity of the user.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

receiving athletic activity data from a device configured to be worn by a first user;

identifying an athletic activity session;

storing the received athletic activity data; and

determining, at a processor, a number of activity points earned by the first user based on the received athletic activity data.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining a type of athletic activity performed by the first user based on the received athletic activity data.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein storing the received athletic activity data further comprises:

categorizing athletic activity data based, at least in part, on one or more types of athletic activity performed by the first user.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

providing an application interface configured to communicate athletic activity data to the first user.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the device includes a GPS sensor configured to provide data relating to a geographic location of the first user.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein storing the received athletic activity data further comprises:

categorizing athletic activity data based, at least in part, on the geographic location of the first user.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the device is a wrist-worn monitoring device.

8. The method of claim 4, wherein the application interface is further configured to categorize the number of activity points earned by the first user based on at least one of:

a type of athletic activity performed by the first user and a geographic location of the first user.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein storing the received athletic activity data further comprises:

receiving user input assigning activity points earned by the first user to one or more user-defined athletic activity sessions.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein storing the received athletic activity data further comprises:

categorizing athletic activity data based, at least in part, on information relating to a second user.

11. An apparatus, comprising:

a processor; and

memory operatively coupled to the processor and storing computer readable instructions that, when executed, cause the apparatus to;

receive athletic activity data from a device configured to be worn by a first user;

identify an athletic activity session;

store the received athletic activity data; and

determine a number of activity points earned by the first user based on the received athletic activity data.

12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the computer readable instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:

determine a type of athletic activity performed by the first user based on the received athletic activity data; and

categorize athletic activity data based, at least in part, on the type of athletic activity performed by the first user.

13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the computer readable instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:

initiate a data processing algorithm based, at least in part, on the type of activity performed by the user.

14. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the computer readable instructions, when executed, further cause the apparatus to:

provide an application interface configured to communicate athletic activity data to the first user, wherein the interface includes one or more functions configured to be invoked for at least the device.

15. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein storing the received athletic activity data further comprises:

receiving, from the device, data relating to a geographic location of the first user; and

categorizing athletic activity data based, at least in part, on the geographic location of the first user.

16. A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing computer-executable instructions for causing a computer device to perform the steps of:

receive athletic activity data from a device configured to be worn by a first user;

identify an athletic activity session;

store the received athletic activity data; and

determine a number of activity points earned by the first user based on the received athletic activity data.

17. The computer-readable medium of claim 16, further containing computer-executable instructions to cause the computer device to:

determine a type of athletic activity performed by the first user based on the received athletic activity data; and

categorize athletic activity data based, at least in part, on the type of athletic activity performed by the first user.

18. The computer-readable medium of claim 16, further containing computer-executable instructions to cause the computer device to:

receive, from the device, data relating to a geographic location of the first user; and

categorize athletic activity data based, at least in part, on the geographic location of the first user.

19. The computer-readable medium of claim 16, further containing computer-executable instructions to cause the computer device to receive user input assigning activity points earned by the first user to one or more user-defined athletic activity sessions.

20. The computer-readable medium of claim 16, further containing computer-executable instructions to cause the computer device to provide an application interface configured to communicate athletic activity data to the first user, wherein the interface includes one or more functions configured to be invoked for at least the device.
