1. A device for use with a vehicle, said device comprising:
- a mode-determining component operable to generate an in-vehicle signal;
a first detecting component operable detect a first parameter and to generate a first detector signal based on the first detected parameter; and
a second detecting component operable detect a second parameter and to generate a second detector signal based on the second detected parameter; and
wherein said mode-determining component is further operable to generate a crash mode signal based on the in-vehicle signal, the first detector signal and the second detector signal.
