Abstract

A flexible organic light-emitting display device and a method of manufacturing the flexible organic light-emitting display device are provided. The flexible organic light-emitting display device comprises a lower flexible substrate assembly and an upper flexible substrate assembly that are bonded by a bonding layer. The lower flexible substrate assembly includes a first flexible substrate, a thin film transistor formed on the first flexible substrate, a white organic light-emitting element formed on the thin film transistor, and an encapsulation layer formed on the white organic light-emitting element. The upper flexible substrate assembly comprises a second flexible substrate, an interlayer and a touch sensing unit formed on the interlayer layer. The interlayer may be at least one of a color filter layer, a transparent resin layer, an insulating film layer and a second flexible substrate.

Claims

1. A method of manufacturing a flexible organic light-emitting display device, the method comprising:

forming a lower flexible substrate assembly including a first flexible substrate, a thin film transistor and an organic light emitting element disposed over a first flexible substrate, the organic light emitting element configured to emit white light and is electrically connected to the thin film transistor;

forming a upper flexible substrate assembly including a touch sensing unit having at least one electrode pattern on an interlayer, the interlayer being at least one of a second flexible substrate, a color filter layer configured to filter the white light and a transparent resin layer; and

bonding together the lower flexible substrate assembly and the upper flexible substrate assembly.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the touch sensing unit is disposed on a first surface and a second surface of the color filter layer and a first surface and a second surface of the transparent resin layer, and wherein forming the upper flexible substrate assembly comprises:

forming a first electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit on the second flexible substrate;

forming the color filter layer and the transparent resin layer on the first electrode pattern; and

forming a second electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit on the color filter layer and the transparent resin layer, wherein the one of the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern is a driving electrode.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the touch sensing unit is disposed on one surface of the color filter layer and one surface of the transparent resin layer, and wherein forming the upper flexible substrate assembly comprises:

forming a first electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit on the second flexible substrate;

forming a second electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit on the first electrode pattern, the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern formed to be electrically insulated from each other;

forming the color filter layer and the transparent resin layer on the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern formed on the second flexible substrate.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the touch sensing unit is disposed on one surface of the color filter layer and one surface of the transparent resin layer, and wherein forming the upper flexible substrate assembly comprises:

forming the color filter layer and the transparent resin layer on the second flexible substrate;

forming a first electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit on the color filter layer and the transparent resin layer; and

forming a second electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit on the first electrode pattern such that the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern are electrically insulated from each other.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the touch sensing unit is disposed on a first surface of the second flexible substrate and a second surface of the second flexible substrate, and wherein forming the upper flexible substrate assembly comprises:

forming a first electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit on the first surface of the second flexible substrate;

forming a second electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit on the second surface of the second flexible substrate;

forming the color filter layer and the transparent resin layer on the second electrode pattern.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the touch sensing unit is disposed on one surface of the second flexible substrate layer, and wherein forming the upper flexible substrate assembly comprises:

forming both a first electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit and a second electrode pattern of the touch sensing unit on a first surface of the second flexible substrate, the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern formed to be electrically insulated from each other; and

forming the color filter layer and the transparent resin layer on the a second surface of the second flexible substrate.

7. A flexible organic light-emitting display device comprising:

a lower flexible substrate assembly including a thin film transistor and a white organic light-emitting element disposed over a first flexible substrate, the white organic light-emitting element configured to emit white light and electrically connected to the thin film transistor;

an upper flexible substrate assembly having a touch sensing unit disposed on an interlayer, the interlayer including at least one of a color filter layer, a transparent resin layer, a second flexible substrate, and an insulating film layer; and

a bonding layer interposed between the lower flexible substrate assembly and the upper flexible substrate assembly to attach the lower flexible substrate assembly and the upper flexible substrate assembly together

8. The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 7, wherein the touch sensing unit is disposed on at least one of a first surface of the color filter layer and a second surface of the color filter layer.

The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 8, wherein the touch sensing unit includes a first electrode pattern and a second electrode pattern, and wherein the first electrode pattern is configured as a driving electrode and the second electrode pattern is configured as a sensing electrode.

10. The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 8, wherein the touch sensing unit includes a first electrode pattern and a second electrode pattern, and wherein the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern are both configured as a sensing electrode.

11. The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 9, wherein the first electrode pattern is disposed on the first surface of the color filter layer and the second electrode pattern is disposed on the second surface of the color filter layer.

The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 9, wherein the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern are disposed on a same surface of the color filter layer such that the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern are electrically insulated from each other.

The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 8, wherein the touch sensing unit is a self-capacitance type touch sensing unit having a plurality of electrode patterns disposed on at least one of the first surface of the color filter layer and the second surface of the color filter layer, and wherein each of the plurality of electrode patterns is arranged to not overlap with another electrode pattern of the plurality of electrode patterns.

14. A flexible organic light-emitting display device comprising:

a first flexible substrate;

a thin film transistor disposed on the first flexible substrate;

an organic light-emitting element disposed on the thin film transistor, the organic light emitting element configured to emit white light;

a flexible encapsulation unit formed on the organic light-emitting element;

a color filter layer having a plurality of color filter layer elements, each of the plurality of color filter layer elements configured to filter the white light to generate a colored light corresponding to each of the plurality of color filter layer elements at a sub pixel region associated with each of the plurality of color filter layer elements;

a bonding layer disposed between the flexible encapsulation unit and the color filter layer; and

a touch sensing unit disposed on at least one surface of the color filter layer.

The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 14, wherein the touch sensing unit includes a first electrode pattern and a second electrode pattern, and wherein the first electrode pattern is disposed on a first surface of the color filter layer and the second electrode pattern is disposed on a second surface of the color filter layer.

The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 14, wherein the touch sensing unit includes a first electrode pattern and a second electrode pattern, and wherein the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern are both disposed on a same surface of the color filter layer.

17. The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 14, further comprising:

a transparent resin layer configured to pass through the white light emitted from the organic light emitting element at a white sub pixel region of the flexible organic light-emitting display device.

The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 17, wherein the touch sensing unit includes a first electrode pattern and a second electrode pattern, and wherein the first electrode pattern is disposed on a first surface of the color filter layer and a first surface of the transparent resin layer, and the second electrode pattern is disposed on opposing surface of the first surface of the color filter layer and opposing surface of the first surface of the transparent resin layer.

The flexible organic light-emitting display device of claim 17, wherein the touch sensing unit includes a first electrode pattern and a second electrode pattern, and wherein the first electrode pattern is disposed on a first surface of the color filter layer and a first surface of the transparent resin layer, and the second electrode pattern is disposed on same surface of the first surface of the color filter layer and same surface of the first surface of the transparent resin layer.
