Abstract

A system includes a processor that is connected with a communication network A smart circuit monitor is connected with a power line. The smart circuit monitor is in communication with the processor by way of the network. A first smart socket is connected with a power line. The first smart socket is in communication with the processor by way of the network. The first smart socket is associated with a first user.

Claims

1. A system, comprising:

a processor that is connected with a communication network;

a first smart socket connected with a power line, the first smart socket in communication with the processor by way of the network, the first smart socket associated with a first user;

second smart socket connected with a power line, the second smart socket in communication with the processor by way of the network, the second smart socket associated with a second user;

a first display associated with the first user, the first display being connected with the processor by way of the network; and

a second display associated with the second user, the second display being connected with the processor by way of the network.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the first smart socket transmits information relating to power consumption of devices plugged into the first smart socket to the processor by way of the network.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the first socket transmits the information by way of at least one selected from a list comprising:

an Ethernet cable, a phone line, a wireless signal, a wi-fi signal, and a power line.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the first display device is a computer monitor that is connected with a computer, the computer connecting with the processor by way of the network.

5. The system of claim 1, comprising a smart circuit monitor connected with a power line, the smart circuit monitor being in communication with the processor by way of the network.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the processor is a computer connected to the network.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the processor is web based.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the processor comprises a server.

9. A method of power consumption conservation, comprising:

connecting a first smart socket to a power line and registering the smart socket to a first user with a processor, the first smart socket being connected with the processor by way of a network;

connecting a second smart socket to a power line and registering the smart socket to a second user with the processor, the second smart socket being connected with the processor by way of the network;

detecting power consumption of a device connected to the first smart socket and transmitting that information to the processor by way of the network;

processing the information with the processor; and

displaying information relating to the information to the first user by way of a visual display device that is associated with the first user and displaying the information relating the information to the second user by way of a visual display that is associated with the second user.

10. The method of claim 9, comprising:

detecting power consumption of a device connected to the second smart socket and transmitting that information to the processor by way of the network;

processing the information with the processor; and

displaying information relating to the information to the first user to the first user by way of a visual display device that is associated with the first user and displaying the information relating the information to the first user to the second user by way of a visual display that is associated with the second user.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein a classification is assigned to the first user by the processor depending on the usage detected by the first smart socket.

12. The method of claim 10, wherein the first user and the second user are ranked with respect to one another.

13. The method of claim 9, wherein the first user is grouped with other users based on the consumption of the first user and the other users.

14. The method of claim 9, comprising, connecting a smart circuit monitor with a power line, detecting power consumption and transmitting that information to the processor by way of the network.

15. The method of claim 9, wherein the visual display device is a computer monitor that is connected with a computer that is connected with the processor by way of the network.

16. A method of energy conservation, comprising:

measuring usage of a first user;

measuring usage of a second user;

transmitting usage data of the first user to a processor via a network and transmitting usage data of the second user to the processor via a network;

processing the usage data and returning information relating to the first usage data and the second energy usage data to a visual display associated with the first user and a visual display associated with the second user.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the usage is of hydrocarbons.

18. The method of claim 16, wherein the usage is of electricity.

19. The method of claim 17, wherein the usage is of water.

20. The method of claim 16, wherein the usage is of money.
