Abstract

A method of delivering an instruction (206) to a mobile user device (106) connected to a network (110) is disclosed. The method comprising the steps of receiving an interactive workflow (202), translating the interactive workflow into the instruction (206) in a form executable by the mobile user device (106), and sending a message (208) including the instruction (206) to the mobile user device (106).

27-1. The system of claim 27, wherein the user device is a mobile device.

36. A method, comprising:

providing a client application and an application gateway, the client application verifying a set of instructions sent by the application gateway, interpreting the set of instructions, interacting with a user device in accordance with the set of instructions; and

sending responses back to the application gateway; and

the application gateway including a database of user devices on which the client application has been installed, providing interactive applications to the user device via any one of a plurality of communication channels, confirming integrity and authenticity of outgoing and inbound messages to the user device; and

providing application programming interfaces (APIs) to deploy an interactive application to the user device and receive corresponding responses generated by the client application on the user device.

37. The method of claim 36, wherein the user device is a mobile device.

38. The method of claim 36, wherein the interactive application is coded in a high level programming or scripting language.

39. The method of claim 36, wherein the database includes information about an operating system of the user device.

40. The method of claim 36, wherein the database includes an identifier of the user device.

41. The method of claim 36, wherein the set of instructions is compiled once prior to being received by the user device.

42. The method of claim 36, wherein a unique message identifier and a response identifier to confirm the authenticity of the received message.

43. The method of claim 36, wherein the set of instruction are sent via a Short Message Service (SMS) over a cellular network.

44. The method of claim 36, wherein the set of instructions are sent via a Cell Broadcast Service (CBS) of a cellular network, sending the message as an IP/TCP data packet over a GPRS or 3G network, and sending the message as a data packet over a Bluetooth connection.

45. The method of claim 36, wherein the set of instructions include an address of the application gateway, information associated with processing data to the application gateway, and communication information to exchange the data with the application gateway.

46. A computer program product, stored on a non-transitory computer readable medium, comprising instructions that, when executed on one or more computers, cause the one or more computers to perform operations to receive an interactive workflow for execution on the mobile device;

translate the application into the instruction in a form executable by the mobile device; and

sending a message including the instruction to the mobile device, the instruction configured for verification by the mobile device and the instruction including an address of a gateway server, information associated with processing data to the gateway server, and communication information to exchange the data with the gateway server.

31. The system of claim 47, wherein the set of instructions is compiled once prior to being received by the user device.

32. The system of claim 47, wherein a unique message identifier and a response identifier to confirm the authenticity of the received message.

47. The computer program product of claim 46, wherein the application is coded in a high level programming or scripting language.

48. The computer program product of claim 46, wherein the includes tailoring the instruction to a device operating system.

49. The computer program product of claim 46, further including an identifier of the user device.

50. The computer program product of claim 46, wherein the instruction is compiled once prior to being received by the user device.

51. The computer program product of claim 46, wherein a unique message identifier and a response identifier to confirm the authenticity of a message.

52. The computer program product of claim 46, wherein the instruction is sent via a Short Message Service (SMS) over a cellular network.

53. The computer program product of claim 46, wherein the instruction is sent via a Cell Broadcast Service (CBS) of a cellular network, sending the message as an IP/TCP data packet over a GPRS or 3G network, and sending the message as a data packet over a Bluetooth connection.
