Abstract

A method and system for conducting an online payment transaction through a point of sale device. The method includes receiving input from a user selecting an item for purchase through the point of sale device; calculating a total purchase amount for the item in response to a request from the user to purchase the item; and sending payment authorization for the total purchase amount from the point of sale device to a payment entity, in which the payment authorization is sent to the payment entity via a mobile communication device of the user. The method further includes receiving a result of the payment authorization from the payment entity through the mobile communication device; and completing the payment transaction based on the result of the payment authorization.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

maintaining an identification code by using a mobile operating system platform non browser based mobile application in a mobile device memory included in a mobile device, wherein the mobile application is preinstalled or downloaded and installed on the mobile device, the mobile device comprising a mobile device display, a mobile device processor, a mobile device radio interface, and a mobile device Bluetooth interface;

wirelessly transmitting an identification code stored in the mobile device memory to a point of entry terminal by using a first wireless communication channel configured for Bluetooth, wherein execution of the mobile application facilitates a transfer of the identification code to the point of entry terminal, the point of entry terminal connected to a management server;

sending a request for a digital artifact to the management server for display within a specific mobile application generated screen, the specific mobile application generated screen corresponding to a specific screen, scene, or real estate property, wherein the management server maintains plurality of user profiles and digital artifacts and selects the digital artifact based on correlating targeting parameters for the user;

receiving the digital artifact from the management server which processes the transaction associated with the identification code; and

displaying the digital artifact within the specific payment application generated screen.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the first wireless communication channel is associated with the mobile device display.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the second wireless communication channel is associated with a cellular radio communication channel.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein targeting parameters comprises personal information and/or transaction history.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the digital artifact is an advertisement, receipt, ticket, coupon, media, or content received at the payment application.

6. The method of claim 4, wherein personal information comprising comprises of location, gender, age, interest, and affiliation, userid, pageid, zip code, area code, and occupation

The method of claim 4, wherein transaction history comprises contactless transactions made using a secure element coupled to the mobile communication device, internet commerce, bill pay, top spend categories, merchants, storage of banking information, accessing banking services, tickets, transactions made by the user but not through the mobile communication device, and raw data downloaded from banks.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the digital artifact includes metadata operable to trigger a secondary call-to-action, wherein the secondary call-to-action is operable to prompt the user to enter an email address, accept coupons/rewards, or opt-in for alerts and notifications.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the secondary call-to-action is operable to prompt the user for personal information including user location, gender, age, interest, or affiliations.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein targeting parameters comprises personal information and/or transaction history.

15. The mobile device of claim 13, wherein personal information comprising comprises of location, gender, age, interest, and affiliation ,userid, pageid, zip code, area code, and occupation.

16. The mobile device of claim 13 wherein transaction history comprises contactless transactions made using a secure element coupled to the mobile communication device, internet commerce, bill pay, top spend categories, merchants, storage of banking information, accessing banking services, tickets, transactions made by the user but not through the mobile communication device, and raw data downloaded from banks.

10. A mobile device comprising:

a mobile device memory configured to maintain an identification code by using a mobile operating system platform non browser based mobile application, wherein the mobile application is preinstalled or downloaded and installed on the mobile device;

a mobile device wireless Bluetooth transceiver;

a mobile device radio transceiver configured to wirelessly transmit an identification code stored in the mobile device memory to the point of entry terminal by using a first wireless communication channel configured for Bluetooth, wherein execution of the mobile application facilitates a transfer of the identification code to the point of entry terminal, the point of entry terminal connected to a management server;

a mobile device application configured to send a request for a digital artifact for display within a specific mobile application generated screen to a management server and receive a digital artifact from the management server, the specific mobile application screen corresponding to a specific screen, scene, or real estate property, wherein the management server maintains plurality of user profiles and digital artifacts and selects the digital artifact based on correlating targeting parameters, wherein the digital artifact is received from the management server which processes the transaction associated with the identification code; and

a mobile application configured to display the digital artifact within the specific mobile application generated screen.

17. The mobile device of claim 10, wherein the digital artifact includes metadata operable to trigger a secondary call-to-action, wherein the secondary call-to-action is operable to prompt the user to enter an email address, accept coupons/rewards, or opt-in for alerts and notifications.

18. The mobile device of claim 17, wherein the secondary call-to-action is operable to prompt the user for personal information including user location, gender, age, interest, or affiliations.

14. The mobile device of claim 14, wherein the digital artifact is an advertisement, receipt, ticket, coupon, media, or content received at the mobile application.

11. The mobile device of claim 14, wherein the first wireless communication channel is associated with the mobile device display.

12. The mobile device of claim 14, wherein the second wireless communication channel is associated with a cellular radio communication channel.

219. A non-transitory computer readable medium, comprising:

computer code for maintaining a mobile application in a mobile device memory included in a mobile device, wherein the mobile application is non browser based and is preinstalled or downloaded and installed on the mobile device, the mobile device comprising a mobile device display, a mobile device processor, and a mobile device radio interface;

computer code for transmitting an identification code stored in the mobile device memory to the point of entry terminal by using a first wireless communication channel configured for Bluetooth, wherein execution of the mobile application facilitates a transfer of the identification code to the point of entry terminal, the point of entry terminal connected to a management server;

computer code for sending a request to a management server for a digital artifact for display within a specific mobile application generated screen, the specific mobile application screen corresponding to a specific screen, scene, or real estate property, wherein the management server maintains plurality of user profiles and digital artifacts and selects the digital artifact based on correlating targeting parameters;

computer code for receiving the digital artifact from the management server which processes the transaction associated with the identification code; and

computer code for displaying the digital artifact within the specific mobile application generated screen.
