Abstract

The battery operated baby care tracking device comprising an information screen on the face of the device, displaying the date and time in one mode and recent baby care information in corresponding modes; a first group of buttons on the same face of the device, labeled as integers 1-12, including clear and decimal point buttons; a second group of buttons labeled as baby feeding events, including nursing, pumping and bottle and baby food feeding, including buttons to indicate the left and right breast; a third group of buttons labeled as baby care information, including diapers, sleeping, crying , medicine, vomiting, temperature and a generic baby care event which are used for data entry and review; a fourth group of buttons having two scan buttons allowing the reviewer to scroll through data; an Alarm switch, on a first or second side of the device, by which the caregiver can set an audible and/or vibration and/or backlight alarm for a particular time or time increments; a Lock switch, on the first or second side of the device, which locks the device or allows input and review of information in different positions; a Light switch on the side of the device, which can be switched Off, On or to the Nighttime position; a microprocessor for providing temporary memory storage for the device and mode selection for each of the buttons and a USB port on a side of the device as well as WiFi capability for data transfer from temporary memory storage in the device to a permanent memory storage.

Claims

1. The battery operated device for tracking baby care in the present invention, comprising:

an information screen on the face of the device, displaying the date and time in one mode, data regarding the most recent inputted event for any baby care category in another mode and more specific information for each baby care category in additional corresponding modes;

a first group of buttons on the same face of the device, labeled as integers 1-12, as well as a Clear button and a Decimal button wherein the first group of buttons are arranged in one or more rows parallel to each other;

a second group of buttons, brightly and differently colored and/or illuminated for easy identification on the same face of the device labeled as baby feeding events, including nursing, pumping, bottle feeding and baby food feeding, as well as L and R buttons to signify left or right breast pumping/nursing, wherein the second group of buttons are arranged in one or more rows, parallel and/or perpendicular to the first group of buttons. These baby feeding events have corresponding icons that are displayed on the information screen whenever a particular baby care event button is pushed;

a third group of buttons, brightly and differently colored and/or illuminated for easy identification on the same face of the device labeled as baby care events, including wet and/or soiled diapers or symbols equivalent to wet and/or soiled diapers, sleeping or a symbol equivalent to a sleeping, crying or a symbol equivalent to crying, medicine or a symbol equivalent to a medicine, vomiting or a symbol equivalent to vomiting, temperature or a symbol equivalent to temperature, generic event or a symbol equivalent to a generic event, and wherein the third group of buttons are arranged in one or more rows or columns. These baby care events have corresponding icons that are displayed on the information screen whenever a particular baby care event button is pushed;

a fourth group of buttons on the face or side of the device serving as scan buttons, wherein at least two scan buttons are arranged in one row or column;

an Alarm switch/button on a first or second side of the device;

a Lock/Unlock switch/button on the first or a second side of the device;

a Light switch/button on the face or top side of the device, which can be switched to the On, Off or Nighttime Illumination position which will dimly backlight the device when any switch/button on the face or side of the device is pressed;

a microprocessor for providing temporary memory storage for the device and mode selection and data input for each of the buttons as well as allowing wireless transmission of data to the permanent memory of other computing devices.

a USB port on a side of the device for data transfer from temporary memory storage in the device to a permanent memory storage.

2. The device of claim 1, further comprising a first group of buttons on the same face of the device, labeled as integers 1-12.

3. The device of claim 1, further comprising a decimal point button located next to the first group number buttons 1-12.

4. The device of claim 1, further comprising a button labeled as clear next to the first group of number buttons 1-12 to erase any inputting errors.

The device of claim 1, a second group of buttons, brightly and differently colored and/or illuminated for easy identification on the same face of the device labeled as baby feeding events, including nursing, pumping, bottle feeding and baby food feeding, as well as L and R buttons to signify left or right breast pumping/nursing, wherein the second group of buttons are arranged in one or more rows, parallel and/or perpendicular to the first group of buttons. These baby feeding events have corresponding icons that are displayed on the information screen whenever a particular baby care event button is pushed.

The device of claim 1, a third group of buttons, brightly and differently colored and/or illuminated for easy identification, on the same face of the device, labeled as baby care events, including wet and/or soiled diapers or symbols equivalent to wet and/or soiled diapers such as buttons in the shape of diapers or triangles with the numbers “

printed on them representing the respective biological functions, sleeping or a symbol equivalent to a sleeping, crying or a symbol equivalent to crying, medicine or a symbol equivalent to a medicine, vomiting or a symbol equivalent to vomiting, temperature or a symbol equivalent to temperature and a generic event or a symbol equivalent to a generic event, and wherein the third group of buttons are arranged in one or more rows or columns. These baby care events have corresponding icons that are displayed on the information screen whenever a particular baby care event button is pushed

7. The device of claim 1, wherein the fourth group of buttons serving as scan/review buttons are labeled with left and right arrows or up and down.

The device of claim 1, further comprising a set of three switches/buttons labeled as three functions or modes, one for an Alarm located next to the alarm icons, another located on the other side of the device indicating the Lock/Unlock located next to the Lock/Unlock icons and the third switch/button is located on the face or top side of the device indicating the Light located next to the Light icons.

9. The device of claim 1, having one dimension of 3.5 inches.

10. The device of claim 1, having one dimension of 3 inches.

11. The device of claim 1, has a durable metal and/or plastic clip on the back thereof so it can adjusted to be propped up on table or other flat surface.

12. The device of claim 1, has a durable metal and/or plastic clip on the back thereof so it can adjusted to be worn on a belt/pant or worn.

13. The device of claim 1, has a durable metal and/or plastic clip on the back thereof so it can be adjusted to be fastened to a comfortable cord or loop allowing it be worn around the neck.
