Abstract

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed to measure channel state information in a wireless communication system. The method includes selecting a subframe to be a reference resource for a channel state information (CSI) report on a Secondary Cell (SCell), in which the subframe is not a downlink (DL) subframe or a special subframe whose downlink portion is longer than a threshold on a Primary Cell (PCell). The method further includes executing a handling.

Claims

1. A method for measuring channel state information in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

selecting a subframe to be a reference resource for a channel state information (CSI) report on a Secondary Cell (SCell), wherein the subframe is not a downlink (DL) subframe or a special subframe whose downlink portion is above a threshold on a Primary Cell (PCell); and

executing a handling for the CSI report.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the handling is selecting a second subframe as a reference resource.

3. A method for measuring channel state information in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

configuring Carrier aggregation; and

determining, by a user equipment (UE), that a subframe on a Secondary Cell (SCell) would not be considered a valid downlink subframe for a channel state information (CSI) report if it is a uplink (UL) subframe or special subframe whose downlink portion is below a threshold on a Primary Cell (PCell).

4. The method of claim 3, further comprising:

determining, by the UE, that a downlink subframe on a SCell could be a valid downlink subframe for a channel state information (CSI) report if the downlink subframe is a DL subframe or special subframe whose downlink portion is above a threshold on a PCell.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the UE considers the downlink subframe as a valid downlink subframe if all the other valid downlink subframe conditions are fulfilled.

6. The method of claim 3, wherein at least two carriers aggregated have different UL-DL configurations.

7. The method of claim 3, wherein the UE is not able to receive and transmit simultaneously.

8. The method of claim 3, wherein the UE considers another prior subframe as a valid downlink subframe.

9. The method of claim 3, wherein a reference resource for CSI reporting would be in another subframe prior to the downlink subframe.

10. A method for measuring channel state information (CSI) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

configuring Carrier aggregation; and

selecting, by a user equipment (UE), a first subframe prior to a second subframe as a reference resource for the CSI report on a Secondary Cell (SCell) if in the second subframe it is a uplink (UL) subframe or special subframe whose downlink portion is below a threshold on a PCell.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the UE considers a subframe as a reference resource for the CSI report on a SCell if in the subframe it is a downlink (DL) subframe or special subframe whose downlink portion is above a threshold on a Primary Cell (PCell).

12. The method of claim 10, wherein at least two carriers aggregated have different UL-DL configurations.

13. The method of claim 10, wherein the UE is not able to receive and transmit simultaneously.

14. A communication device for improving a channel state information (CSI) measurement in a wireless communication system, the communication device comprising:

a control circuit;

a processor installed in the control circuit;

a memory installed in the control circuit and operatively coupled to the processor;

wherein the processor is configured to execute a program code stored in memory to improve a CSI measurement in a wireless communication system by;

selecting a subframe to be a reference resource for a channel state information (CSI) report on a Secondary Cell (SCell), wherein the subframe is not a downlink (DL) subframe or a special subframe whose downlink portion is above a threshold on a Primary Cell (PCell); and

executing a handling for the CSI report.

15. The communication device of claim 14, wherein the handling is selecting a second subframe as a reference resource.

16. A communication device for improving a channel state information (CSI) measurement in a wireless communication system, the communication device comprising:

a control circuit;

a processor installed in the control circuit;

a memory installed in the control circuit and operatively coupled to the processor;

wherein the processor is configured to execute a program code stored in memory to improve a CSI measurement in a wireless communication system by;

selecting a first subframe prior to a second subframe as a reference resource for the CSI report on a Secondary Cell (SCell) if in the second subframe it is a uplink (UL) subframe or special subframe whose downlink portion is below a threshold on a Primary Cell (PCell).

17. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the program code further comprises selecting a subframe as a reference resource for the CSI report on the SCell if in the subframe it is a downlink (DL) subframe or special subframe whose downlink portion is above a threshold on the PCell.

18. The communication device of claim 16, wherein at least two carriers aggregated have different UL-DL configurations.

19. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the UE is not able to receive and transmit simultaneously.

20. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the UE selects another prior subframe as a valid downlink subframe.

21. A communication device for improving a channel state information (CSI) measurement in a wireless communication system, the communication device comprising:

a control circuit;

a processor installed in the control circuit;

a memory installed in the control circuit and operatively coupled to the processor;

wherein the processor is configured to execute a program code stored in memory to improve a CSI measurement in a wireless communication system by;

selecting a first subframe prior to a second subframe as a reference resource for the CSI report on a Secondary Cell (SCell) if in the second subframe it is a uplink (UL) subframe or special subframe whose downlink portion is below a threshold on a Primary Cell (PCell).

22. The communication device of claim 21, wherein the program code further comprises considering a subframe as a reference resource for the CSI report on a SCell if the subframe is a DL subframe or special subframe whose downlink portion is above a threshold on a PCell.
