Abstract

The invention includes a system to gather and analyze data to monitor, track, and provide care. The major subsystems of the invention include the Medical Digital Assistant (“MDA”), Server, Monitoring Devices, Dispensing Devices, Server, Dashboard, and Application Software. The invention includes conducting data acquisition, monitoring, analysis, and reporting to diagnose and treat medical conditions such as diagnosing and treating specific medical conditions such as fertility and congestive heart failure.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a monitoring device used to monitor data from a patient;

a dispensing device having the capability of performing actions on a patient;

a medical digital assistant enabled to receive data from the monitoring device and the dispensing device;

wherein the medical digital assistant is enabled to coordinate data retrieval, storage, communication, processing, analysis, and reporting;

wherein the medical digital assistant is enabled to direct the monitoring device to acquire data and direct the dispensing device to perform an action; and

wherein the data monitored includes monitoring blood pressure, monitoring activity levels, monitoring oxygen levels, monitoring weight, and monitoring EKG.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein a server provides secure links for data transfer among the monitoring device, dispensing device, and medical digital assistant.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the server includes significant data storage sufficient to provide long-term secure and redundant data storage for multiple devices and patients.

4. The system of claim 2, wherein the server is accessible worldwide, anytime, from anywhere, and to any authorized user via Internet, telephone, cellular, or radio networks.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein a dashboard provides a graphical user interface to monitor, manage, maintain, or control data or request actions.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein the dashboard provides a graphical user interface via a personal computing device such as a notebook PC, desktop PC, netbook PC, medical digital assistant, tablet PC, smart-phone, or personal digital assistant.

7. The system of claim 5, wherein the dashboard includes summary and detailed data displays such as alarms for patient status and graphs of data parameters.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein application software is provided to coordinate storage, compression, transmission, analysis, and reporting of data.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein the patient is a human child or adult.

10. The system of claim 1, wherein the patient is a non-human animal.

11. The system of claim 1, wherein the monitoring device transmits data based on a commercial specification such as PCI Express, USB, WiMAX, LTE, WiFi, WWAN, WLAN, LAN, PAN, WPAN, 2.5G, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth, USB, POTs, Ethernet, and WPAN RF interfaces.

12. The system of claim 1, wherein more than one medical digital assistant is supported to enable simultaneous support for one or more patients and devices.

13. The system of claim 1, wherein the medical digital assistant is a commercially available portable computing device such as a notebook PC, tablet PC, smart-phone, or personal digital assistant.

14. The system of claim 1, wherein blood pressure is monitored with a blood pressure monitoring device at least three times per day.

15. The system of claim 1, wherein activity level is monitored continuously throughout the day with a pedometer.

16. The system of claim 1, wherein oxygen level is monitored for at least three minutes a day with an oximeter.

17. The system of claim 1, wherein weight is monitored once every day with a scale.

18. The system of claim 1, wherein EKG is monitored continuously every day with a remote EKG sensor.

19. A system comprising:

a monitoring device used to monitor data from a patient;

a dispensing device having the capability of performing actions on a patient;

a medical digital assistant enabled to receive data from the monitoring device and the dispensing device;

wherein the medical digital assistant is enabled to coordinate data retrieval, storage, communication, processing, analysis, and reporting;

wherein the medical digital assistant is enabled to direct the monitoring device to acquire data and direct the dispensing device to perform an action; and

wherein the data monitored includes monitoring basal body temperature and sleep behavior.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein the data is correlated to determine an ovulation window.
