Abstract

The present disclosure is directed to an improved cookieless ecommerce platform. The proposed approach involves receiving a confirmation of an order for the purchase of an item initiated by a platform member to a platform partner. The order includes at least one of an assigned e-mail address and a social community user id. The platform scans communications to/from the platform member to the partner to determine when a communication involves a request for an order, and based on the scanning, determines when a member is entitled to a cashback or similar reward.

Claims

1. In a cookieless ecommerce platform, a method comprising:

receiving a confirmation of an order for the purchase of an item initiated by a platform member to a platform partner, where the order includes at least one of an assigned e-mail address and a social community user id for use by members when placing a request for an order;

scanning communications to/from the platform member to determine that the communication involves a request for an order; and

based on the scanning, determining when a member is entitled to a reward.

2. The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 1, further comprising initiating a cashback transfer to the platform member as a reward.

3. The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 2, wherein the cashback transfer is initiated in response to the member having reached a certain level amount in cashbacks.

4. The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 1, wherein the cashback transfer is initiated in response to the member having reached a certain level amount in cashbacks.

5. The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 1, wherein the placing of the request for an order involves the platform member performing an online product search using at least one of a plug-in and an add-on linked directly to the ecommerce platform.

6. The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 5, wherein the at least one of a plug-in and an add-on is a browser plug-in that operates to provide the platform member with up-to-date promotions and targeted advertising.

The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 1, wherein the at least one of an assigned e-mail address and a social community user id is an assigned e-mail address, whereby the assigned e-mail address is associated with an existing e-mail address of the member at the time of registration, the method further comprising:

determining when either the assigned e-mail address or the existing e-mail address are inactive; and

communicating with the member in response thereto to correct outdated information.

8. The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 6, the correction of outdated information involves receiving updated profile information at the same time.

The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 1, wherein the at least one of a assigned e-mail address and a social community user id is an assigned e-mail address, and wherein the placing of a request for an order involves the platform member placing an order at a partner site, in response to which the Partner site generates an order confirmation to the assigned e-mail address, the scanning involving detecting the e-mail confirmation and corresponding with the partner site to receive confirmation to authorize a cashback incentive, where the reward is the cashback incentive.

The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 1, wherein the at least one of a an assigned e-mail address and a social community user id is an assigned reserved e-mail address, and wherein the placing of a request for an order involves the platform member placing an order with the cookieless ecommerce platform, the method further comprising receiving the request for an order and passing the request to a partner site to process.

The cookieless ecommerce platform of claim 1, wherein the at least one of an assigned e-mail address and a social community user id is a social community ID, wherein the placing of a request for an order involves the platform member placing an order with an online market place administered by a social platform, where the social platform generates order confirmations to an inbox order folder associated with the social community ID.
