Abstract

A computer-implemented system and method for predictive and diagnostic analysis of an electrical transmission, generation and distribution asset health includes a computer with a non-transient computer readable medium able to receive data regarding an asset, its components, component subsystem and parameters related thereto. Instructions stored on the non-transient computer readable medium execute instructions that predictively calculate overall asset health and also calculated the states of subsystems and component parameters, providing a diagnostic of the causes of poor asset health.

Claims

1. An article of manufacture for determining the health of an electrical transmission or distribution asset having one or more subsystems, comprising:

a computer having and non-transient computer readable medium and configured to receive at least one of component data, component parameter data and subsystem data;

a probability distribution for the at least one asset, component, component parameter and subsystem written on the computer readable medium;

instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that upon execution update the probability distribution for the at least one asset and the at least one the component based upon received subsystem or component parameter data; and

,

instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that upon execution update the probability distribution for the at least one asset and the at least one component parameter data and subsystem data based upon received component data.

2. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the computer includes a user input interface and is configured to receive the at least one of component data, component parameter data and subsystem data from at least one of an online sensor and the user input interface.

3. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the probability distribution of the at least one component includes probability distributions of at least one of an oil preservation system, load tap changer, cooling system, active part, bushings and main tank.

4. The article of manufacture of claim 3, wherein the probability distribution of the at least one subsystem or component parameter includes the probability distribution of at least one of an oil quality, oil leakage, load or infrared parameters.

5. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the probability distribution of the at least one subsystem or component parameter includes the probability distribution of at least one of an oil quality, oil leakage, load or infrared parameters.

The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the probability distribution of the at least one component is determined based upon the probability distribution of the at least one subsystem and component parameter and a data structure associating the probability distribution of the at least one subsystem and component parameter with the probability distribution of the at least one component.

The article of manufacture of claim 1 wherein the instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that upon execution update the probability distribution of the asset and the probability distribution of the at least one subsystems and component parameters based upon received component data, and the instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that upon execution update the probability distribution of the asset and the probability distribution of the components based upon received subsystem data and component parameter data perform a Bayesian calculation upon execution.

8. The article of manufacture of claim claim 1 wherein the probability distribution of the asset, the probability distribution of at least one component and the probability distribution of at least one component property and subsystem written on the computer readable medium are normalized.

9. The article of manufacture of claim 1 further comprising:

instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that upon execution update the probability distribution of the asset based upon received asset data.

The article of manufacture of claim 9, wherein the instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that upon execution update the probability distribution of the asset and the probability distribution of the components include instructions to update the probability distribution at least one of oil preservation system, load tap changer, cooling system, active part, bushings and main tank.

10. An article of manufacture for determining the health of an electrical transmission or distribution asset having one or more subsystems, comprising:

a computer having and non-transient computer readable medium and configured to receive at least one of subsystem condition data and component parameters condition data;

probability distribution of the asset, probability distribution of least one asset component, and probability distribution of at least one subsystem parameter written on the computer readable medium; and

,

instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that upon execution update probability distribution of the asset and the probability distribution of the asset components based upon received component property data or subsystem condition data.

The article of manufacture of claim 10, further comprising instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that upon execution update the probability distribution of the asset and the probability distribution of the at least one components based upon received subsystem and component parameter data.

12. The article of manufacture of claim 11, wherein the computer includes a user input interface and is configured to receive the at least one of component data and subsystem and component parameter data from at least one of an online sensor and the user input interface.

13. The article of manufacture of claim 11, wherein the instructions that upon execution update the probability distribution of the asset and the probability distribution of the subsystem and component parameters include instructions to update the probability distribution of at least one of an oil quality, oil leakage, load or infrared parameters.

The article of manufacture of claim 11, wherein the instructions that upon execution update the probability distribution of the asset and the probability distribution of the at least one components include instructions to update the probability distribution of the asset and the probability distribution of the components based upon oil quality data, oil leakage data, load data or infrared parameters data.

16. A method for determining the health of an electrical transmission or distribution asset having one or more subsystems, comprising:

providing a computer having and non-transient computer readable medium and configured to receive at least one of component data and subsystem and component parameter data;

receiving at least one of component data and subsystem and component parameter data; and

,

executing instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that update the probability density of the asset and the probability distribution of the subsystem and component parameters based upon received component data.

17. The method of claim 16 further comprising:

executing instructions written upon the non-transient computer readable medium that update the probability distribution of the asset and the probability distribution of the component based upon received subsystem data and component parameter data.
