Abstract

A mounting bracket plate for a personal electronic device for attaching to a motor vehicle.

Claims

1. A portable electronic device detachable mounting apparatus for detachably mounting a PED to one of a motorcycle, a snowmobile, a personal watercraft, a personal three- or four-wheeled off-road vehicle, or other similar vehicle, the PED detachable mounting system comprising:

a generally flat and elongated mounting bar of a predetermined length;

a pair of opposing “

C”

clamps on opposing ends of the elongated bar;

a screw on each “

C”

clamp for securely affixing the “

C”

clamp to a pair of motor vehicle fork bolts spaced apart a predetermined distance on the motor vehicle; and

a mounting device for the PED generally extending upwardly and perpendicular to the bar and in generally located in the center of the bar to attach to a PED mounting bracket.

2. The portable electronic device detachable mounting apparatus of claim 1, where each “

clamp includes an opening between two clamping surfaces on the clamp and wherein the “

C”

clamp opening is narrowed between the two surfaces by tightening a screw or bolt passing through a hole on one surface and threading it into a threaded hole on the opposite surface to close the opening and the strength the grip on the fork bolt.
